Lady arrested for staging her own kidnap says she did it to test her sister's love for her (photo)

A 37-year-old woman, Torkwase Queen Ayakpa, who was arrested by men of the FCT police command for staging her own kidnap, says she did it to find out if her sister loves her.

 

Ayakpa was one of 24 suspects paraded by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command for various offenses on Wednesday, July 29.

 

Ayakpa, who is a hairstylist, conspired with one Fidelis Ikule, 36, to stage her kidnap. She told the police that she also did it to extort N20, 000 from her sister because her hairstyling business was no longer doing well due to the coronavirus pandemic.

 

Ayakpa, a native of Benue state and Fidelis, were arrested after the police traced the calls they were making for the ransom to Fidelis's house in Mashafa Village, Mpape, Abuja, where they were holing up.

A Nigerian doctor, Urey, who just passed out from National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, on Thursday, July 16th, has died. According to report, Urey who was a 2019 Batch B stream 2 corper, was involved in a fatal accident at Onne, Rivers state, on her way returning back home. Reports have it that the trailer lost control which led to the crash with her vehicle. Urey was a graduate of Imo state University, department of Optometry. Urey was said to have ‘struggled’ with medical school and finally got out successfully. Friends and family members have taken to social media to pen tributes to her.

A video of the scene has been making the rounds on social media in which the lady and her team of fetish priests are seen standing outside of the bank premises together with other customers waiting to have access to the facility. The man who made the video of the incident said the lady’s account with the unnamed bank was debited, so she brought her fetish priest (‘Babalawo’) boyfriend to fight for her. Bristow Helicopters publicize the sack of over 100 pilots and engineers in its employ. In a statement released on Tuesday, August 4, the company said the workers laid off due to the effect of the Coronavirus pandemic on its operations.
