  The father of a patient slapped and stabbed the medical doctor who was in charge of his child's case, it has been claimed.   A medical doctor narrated the story on Twitter as he discussed the "hazards" medical doctors are exposed to.   He wrote: "The kind of hazards Drs are exposed to is staggering! In Nigeria, added to the well-known hazards, we have assaults from patient relatives added! A female Dr was slapped and stabbed with a syringe (of unknown origin) in our Children's Emergency by the patient's father. For what?   "The young Registrar on call took a blood sample from the man's child and asked him to take it to the lab. The lab scientists (as they sometimes do) said the sample was inadequate. The man returned angrily. "Where is that Dr that is wasting my child's blood?" Gbas gbas gbos.   "The hospital needs to have a policy on assault on doctors. These things keep repeating!   An accident victim allegedly wants to file a lawsuit against a doctor for giving him blood to revive him.   The man was reportedly taken to the hospital after he suffered an accident that nearly cost him his life.   The doctor on duty did a blood transfusion to save him and he soon regained consciousness.    He was upset when he found out he was given blood and he has threatened to sue the doctor for doing something that is against his faith.   The revelation led to an argument on Twitter after one user said the doctor should have respected his faith. Others asked how the doctor would have known that his faith doesn't permit blood transfusion when the man was unconscious and couldn't object.
