Borno state governor, Babagana Zulum slams soldiers after an attack on his convoy

The Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has slammed the Nigerian Army stationed in Baga, a town in Kukawa local government of the state, after suspected Boko Haram members attacked his convoy on Wednesday, July 29.   Governor Zulum had departed Maiduguri, the state capital on Monday afternoon July 27, for the northern part of the state in continuation of the food distribution programme which he started earlier in the month. Nigerian suspected to be an arms supplier to bandits is beaten to death in Sokoto and his body dumped in a river

A man from Niger republic who is suspected to be an arms supplier to bandits, has been beaten to death and his body dumped inside the river in Gada local government area of Sokoto state.   A statement from the spokesperson of the state police command, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, said on July 26, information was received at Gada Divisional Headquarters that the yet-to-be identified person from Niger republic, who was suspected to be supplying arms and ammunition to bandits, was intercepted at Diboni village of Gada L.G.A on his way to Zamfara State. Five Persons Drown As Villagers Flee From Bandits Attack In Niger State

At least five persons have allegedly drowned as a canoe conveying fleeing villagers capsized at Gurmana river in Shiroro local government area of Niger State. Those alleged to have drowned are three women and two children. The victims, it was gathered were among those fleeing from the community, having heard of an attack by armed bandits on a neighboring village. A source told us that they boarded some canoes to cross the river to other communities across the river for their safety. “They boarded the canoes in order to escape attack from the bandits, but unfortunately, one of the canoes capsized when they had almost gotten to safety,” the source added. SO SAD!!! 11 Killed, Others Injured In Fresh Kaduna Attack

About 11 people have been confirmed killed Monday night in a fresh attack in Gora Gan village, Zangon Kataf local government area of Kaduna State by suspected Fulani militias. Also, about seven were reported to have different degrees of injuries and have been rushed for treatment in an undisclosed hospital, with others missing. Security men have taken over the area to ensure normalcy returns to the affected village. The CAN Vice Chairman of the local government area, Pastor Isaac Ango Makama who confirmed the attack to NAIJALOADED, said the attackers numbering 50, stormed the village at about 7pm and started shooting sporadically, leading to the loss of lives and burning of undisclosed number of houses. He said that most of the corpses have so far been deposited at the Zonkwa General hospital while some of the villagers are still searching for their loved ones.
