Singer Tamar Braxton has been rushed to hospital unresponsive after reports of heramid reports of a possible suicide attempt. Toni Braxton was rushed to hospital by ambulance after she was found unresponsive by her boyfriend David Adefeso at the Ritz Carlton Residences in downtown Los Angeles, it’s reported. David called 911 and said he believed it may have been a suicide attempt, according to The Blast. A representative for Braxton told The Blast: “Tamar has had a very tough and emotional day — more information will be coming in the next few days.

Russian powerlifter breaks both knees as attempt to squat 400kg goes horribly wrong in terrifying video

  The Russian powerlifting champion fractured both of his knees while attempting to squat 400kg (880lb).    Defending champion Alexander Sedykh was competing in the World Raw Powerlifting Federation (WRPF) European Championships near Moscow when the terrifying incident occurred.   In the shocking video, Sedykh's legs can be seen shaking after holding the weight on his shoulders. As he prepares for the squat with the enormous weight, both of his knees buckled horribly, and he cried out in anguish. He fractured both his knees in the incident and also ruptured his quadriceps muscles.    Sedykh was rushed to the hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery on his legs.   The powerlifting champion, who must now learn how to walk again said: “The main thing is that I must lie motionless in bed for two months.”   “Then I’ll be taught how to walk again. A Nigerian doctor, Urey, who just passed out from National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, on Thursday, July 16th, has died. According to report, Urey who was a 2019 Batch B stream 2 corper, was involved in a fatal accident at Onne, Rivers state, on her way returning back home. Reports have it that the trailer lost control which led to the crash with her vehicle. Urey was a graduate of Imo state University, department of Optometry. Urey was said to have ‘struggled’ with medical school and finally got out successfully. Friends and family members have taken to social media to pen tributes to her.

Donald Trump says he will pardon someone ‘very, very important’ today

  US President, Donald Trump has said he will pardon someone who is “very, very important” on Tuesday, August 18.   Trump made the announcement on Monday night, August 17, while speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One. He didn’t identify who the person was but added it would not be leaker Edward Snowden or former national security adviser Michael Flynn.   "Doing a pardon tomorrow on someone who is very, very important," Trump told reporters on Air Force One.   He declined to offer further details except to say it was not Flynn nor Snowden.   Trump on Saturday, August 15, said he’d look “very strongly” at pardoning Snowden, who’s accused of espionage and theft of government property for leaking troves of National Security Agency information.   Meanwhile, in May, Trump said he was mulling a full pardon for Flynn, who pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI during an investigation into the 2016 presidential campaign. ...

Adedamola Adewale, popularly known as Adeherself, has released a statement after being released on bail from EFCC custody.   The popular social media influencer was arrested for internet fraud weeks ago and arraigned before Justice Sherifat Solebo of the Special Offences Court in Ikeja, Lagos on a one-count charge of possession of fraudulent documents.   The 20-year-old skit maker was released last week and she has now released a statement on Instagram.  If there's one thing I've learnt in life, it's to never give up no matter how hard things may get in life.... Russia announces world's first Coronavirus vaccine which offers 'two years' immunity

  Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced that his country has finally approved the world’s first Covid-19 vaccine, saying he has tested it on his daughter and it worked.     According to Putin, the vaccine was developed at Moscow’s Gamaleya Institute, with large-scale production of the vaccine projected to start in September, while mass vaccination may begin as early as October.                    The vaccine has undergone less than two months of human testing, but Putin, speaking to government officials on Tuesday, August 11 said one of his two daughters was among those who already had a shot at the new vaccine. NJC recommends 22 judges to Buhari for appointment to Supreme Court and others

  The National Judicial Council has recommended the appointment of more judges for the Supreme Court and other courts following its second virtual meeting held on August 11 and 12, 2020.   NJC's Director of Information, Mr Soji Oye, said the council presided over by its chairman, who is also the Chief Justice of Nigeria Tanko Muhammad, recommended a total of 22 judicial officers across various courts, including the Supreme Court, following a steady decline in the number of its justices in the last two years.   Four of the nominees were appointed to the Supreme Court   while the others were nominated to other Nigerian courts.   The statement read:  • NJC recommends appointment of four (4) Justices, Supreme Court of Nigeria, three (3) Heads of Court, eleven (11) Judges for State High Courts and four (4) Kadis, of Sharia Court of Appeal; The National Judicial Council under the Chairmanship of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon...
