Manchester City has won the competition from a host of top European clubs to sign hot Spanish prospect Ferran Torres for £21m ($27m).   Valencia could receive a further £11m ($14m) in add-ons for the Spain Under-21 international, who is in the final 12 months of his contract.   Torres was coach Pep Guardiola's first major signing of the summer and was bought after stiff competition from the likes of Manchester United, Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid who all wanted the winger. “I am so happy to be joining City,” Torres told City's official website on Tuesday. “Every player wants to be involved in attacking teams and Manchester City is one of the most attacking in world football. “Pep encourages a really open, aggressive style, which I love, and he is a manager with a proven track record of improving players. Napoli exclude record signing Victor Osimhen from 23-man UEFA Champions League squad

Italian football giants, Napoli have excluded new record signing, Victor Osimhen from its 23 man squad UEFA Champions League squad released on Tuesday August 4.   Napoli will take on Barcelona in the round of 16 of the tournament in a one-legged tie on August 8 but will be without Osimhen, who completed a €50 million transfer from Lille last month following the 2019/2020 season where he scored 18 goals and provided six assists in 38 appearances across all competitions.   According to the list announced by Uefa, Senegal international Koulibaly is the only African star who made the club’s 23-man squad.   Napoli announced that the Nigeria international, Osimhen will not feature having featured in the group stage of the competition for his former club, Lille.

Fulham to get £135m after defeating Brentford 2-0 to gain promotion to premier league (photos)

Famed British club, Fulham beat Brentford 2-1 in the Championship play-off final at Wembley on Tuesday night, August 4, to gain promotion to the Premier League, winning up to £135m in the process.   Joe Bryan, scored twice for Fulham in extra-time to earn his side victory in the hard fought encounter.     Fulham managed by former player, Scott Parker, created the better chances, and a terrible misjudgement by Brentford goalkeeper David Raya allowed the opener in the 105th minute.     The result gives Parker a first success of his fledgling managerial career after he led Fulham to relegation from the EPL last season.  

Musa Nosa Kadiri Dies After Fall From His Apartment In New York

Kadiri grew up playing soccer on the streets of his hometown, Benin City in Nigeria, where playing soccer served as both fun and distraction from daily life. Former Nigerian international, Musa Nosa Kadiri, has passed away at the age of 53 in New York. A source said Kadiri, ex- Flying Eagles star, went into a coma after falling from his apartment which caused bleeding in the brain. Another source said, “I’m surprised because I saw him Saturday or Sunday. We were going over some business he wanted to be done, and he looked fine. “He had lost a bit of weight due to being hospitalized two weeks earlier. But he was his usual self, talking politics and plans. So, a day or two later, he was unresponsive and on life support. It’s hard to believe.” A soccer enthusiast, player and coach, Kadiri embodied everything soccer. He started playing soccer at the very young age of 5.
