Tears as heroic combat pilot, Tolulope Arotile is buried (Photos)

The remains of Flying Officer  Tolulope Arotile  has been laid to rest at the national military cemetery on Airport Road, Abuja. The Nigeria Air Force (NAF) had last week revealed that Tolulope Arotile, Nigeria’s First female combat helicopter pilot, was hit with a car driven by her ex-classmate Tolulope Arotile died at age 24 as a result of head injuries she sustained from the accident, which happened at the Nigerian Air Force base in Kaduna state. Daramola gave the name of Arotile’s ex-classmate who drove the vehicle that hit Nigeria’s first female combat helicopter pilot as “Mr Nehemiah Adejoh”. The NAF spokesperson also said the matter would be handed over to the Nigeria Police Force being a civil case. An ambulance belonging to the Nigerian Air Force with registration number AF 442, had brought in the body of the heroic combat pilot, to the national military cemetery on Airport Road, Abuja. Father Of Late Combat Helicopter Pilot, Tolulope Arotile, Speaks On Daughter's Last Moments, Says She Fulfilled Childhood Dream

Mr Akintunde Arotile, father of Nigeria's first female combat helicopter pilot, Tolulope, who passed away on Tuesday, has disclosed their last conversation before she died. Arotile said he called his daughter on the phone on Tuesday at about 1:00pm on her return from an operation against bandits in Katsina State and the two of the had a several minutes chat. He however, revealed that things took a different turn later in the day when he received a call from a person. He said, "She told me that she will later go out to make some photocopies and I told her not to be long and to return home on time because she was staying with my first daughter in Kaduna. "Around 5:30pm, somebody called me and asked if I had called her and I said yes. The person told me to call her again which I did, but there was no response. Nigerian Air Force (NAF) announces the unfortunate demise of flying Officer Tolulope Arotile, who died on, 14 July 2020, as a result of head injuries sustained from a road traffic accident at NAF base in Kaduna. Until her death, Flying Officer Arotile, who was commissioned into the NAF in September 2017 as a member of Nigerian Defence Academy Regular Course 64, was the first ever female combat helicopter pilot in the service.
