Two airplanes collide at Lagos airport

A wing tip accident was witnessed at the cargo area of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos on Wednesday July 29. 

 

The accident occurred when a Middle East Airlines plane was coming to park on the apron while a Turkish Airlines aircraft was taxiing out.

 

Passengers on the Turkish Airlines flight were made to disembark and it was further learnt that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) have been notified and would issue a statement on the incident.

Brothers arrested for gang-raping their 13-year-old cousin

Two brothers identified as Uchechukwu Asuzu, 20, and Bright Asuzu, 20 have been arrested for allegedly gang-raping their 13-year-old cousin, identified Ugochukwu Chigozirim Ehirim The incident, according to reports, happened in Ezemanah Ezeamoruo Nkwerre, Imo State. Spokesperson of the state police command, SP Orlando Ikeokwu, said Chigozirim was raped after her grandfather angrily sent her out of their home. According to him: “Chigozirim who stays with her grandfather, was sent on an errand by her grandfather. Unfortunately, she returned home late, as a result, the grandfather sent her out of the house. All efforts to gain entrance into the house proved abortive as her grandfather insisted that she will sleep outside, as a result she was stranded. FG reciprocates, bans EU flights from entering Nigeria

  The federal government says it would also be banning flights from European nations just as it has banned flights from Nigeria into their country.   As part of measures to contain the spread of the Coronavirus in its region, the European Union in June this year released a statement listing some countries that are banned from flying into any of the countries in the region, and Nigeria was included.   At the daily briefing of the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19 on Thursday, August 20, the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, announced that the Federal government will be reciprocating the EU's decision. Airlines from the European Union will not be allowed to fly into Nigeria once international flights resume operations in Nigeria on Saturday, August 29.   The minister, who was represented by the Director-General, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Capt. American rapper T.I's, stepdaughter, Zonnique Pullins is pregnant.   Zonnique, who is the rapper's wife Tameka 'Tiny' Cottle's daughter, is expecting her first child with her boyfriend, rapper Bandhunta Izzy.   The 24-year-old shared the happy news with People on Tuesday, August 4, and revealed that she is currently five months along.    Addressing pregnancy rumours in the past, Pullins said: "Literally every year, probably for the past three years, this same rumour that I was pregnant had come out. This time I am  pregnant. It's weird!" Segun Ogungbe and wives take son to church (photos)

  Movie producer Segun Ogungbe and his wives, Atinuke Ogungbe and Wunmi Ajiboye, took their new son,  Obafemi,  to church yesterday for his dedication unto God. Kemi Filani News recalls how Segun Ogunbe and his second wife, Wunmi Ajiboye, welcomed their second son in May. The newborn coincidentally arrived on the birthday of their first son, who was turning 5. Segun Ogungbe is married to two best friends, Atinuke and Wunmi Ajiboye, who is also an actor in the Yoruba movie genre. What makes their union even more interesting is the fact that they are always at peace with each other despite having to share love of one man.
