The office of the Daily Star newspaper was among the buildings damaged in the explosion. Video posted on social media shows the ceiling caved in and glass from windows shattered on the ground. According to Zeina Khodr, an  Al Jazeera reporter in Beirut , the explosion was felt across the city. “I was kilometres away; the glass broke everywhere around me,” Khodr told Al Jazeera. “There is chaos in the streets.' SAD - RECENTLY PASS OUT NYSC DOCTOR DIES IN A FATAL ACCIDENT

A Nigerian doctor, Urey, who just passed out from National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, on Thursday, July 16th, has died. According to report, Urey who was a 2019 Batch B stream 2 corper, was involved in a fatal accident at Onne, Rivers state, on her way returning back home. Reports have it that the trailer lost control which led to the crash with her vehicle. Urey was a graduate of Imo state University, department of Optometry. Urey was said to have ‘struggled’ with medical school and finally got out successfully. Friends and family members have taken to social media to pen tributes to her.

  Prof Kemebradikumo Pondei,  the acting Managing Director of the Expanded Interim Management Committee, EIMC of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, says he is shocked that some Nigerians thought he was acting when he fainted while testifying before a House of Representatives public hearing on the alleged financial recklessness of the commission on July 20. Pondei  shocked Nigerians including the lawmakers when he slumped  during the hearing. Pondei passed out after he failed to defend the N1.3 billion he approved to provide COVID-19 palliative for members of the Commission. He also could not defend the N640 million he approved to one clear point communications limit.  He was being asked about the money meant for students on scholarships when he passed out. A video of the scene has been making the rounds on social media in which the lady and her team of fetish priests are seen standing outside of the bank premises together with other customers waiting to have access to the facility. The man who made the video of the incident said the lady’s account with the unnamed bank was debited, so she brought her fetish priest (‘Babalawo’) boyfriend to fight for her. The impatient priest is seen peeping through as if he couldn’t wait to enter and make his case. Unfortunately, the bank reportedly denied the lady and her native doctors access. Bristow Helicopters sacks 100 pilots and engineers

Bristow Helicopters publicize the sack of over 100 pilots and engineers in its employ. In a statement released on Tuesday, August 4, the company said the workers laid off due to the effect of the Coronavirus pandemic on its operations. The aviation company which described the sack as "painful", said it engaged with the National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE) to negotiate a fair and equitable redundancy compensation for those affected.   The statement partly read; “This decision has not been made lightly, but having considered the state of the business and the very serious constraints caused by the spread of the COVID-19 disease and the downturn in the oil and gas market, the company must now take this painful, but decisive step to ensure the continuity of its business and delivery of essential services to its clients “One of these measures includes the right-sizing of the business to ensure that the company has the optimal level of personnel to conti...

   Oluwayemisi Mafe, a victim of spousal abuse, has detailed how her wedding day turned out to be a sad day for her as it heralded years of abuse that left her feeling so alone and led to her mother’s death.   The marketing communications consultant said she married her husband after two years of courtship, so she thought she knew him well. However, she realized on her wedding day that she was wrong when he showed her another side of him.   Speaking on Life Lessons with Betty Irabor, Yemisi revealed that shortly after they got married, the physical abuse started.
