In a tweet posted this afternoon, the award-winning thespian slammed ''talentless twats'' who come on social media to dismiss the works of creative people as trash. Describing them as people with ''miserable directionless lives, she wrote;

Nigerian embassy in Canada closed to the public after its staff was attacked

  The Nigerian embassy in Canada has been shut down following an attack launched against its staff.    The comission in a statement shared on its official website, said it had devised a system in which citizens with emergency cases were attended to strictly by appointment that allowed a limited number of people into the chancery at a time, in compliance with the laid-down rules of physical distancing.   Recounting how a female staff member was allegedly held hostage and subjected to physical abuse, the commission accused citizens of showing up without an appointment, acting in an unruly manner and disturbing the peace at the chancery.   The statement read;  THE HIGH COMMISSION OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA IN CANADA WISHES TO INFORM NIGERIAN COMMUNITIES IN CANADA AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC THAT THE MISSION REMAINS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC. John Newton  – 21 December 1807) was an English Anglican clergyman and abolitionist who was forced to serve as a sailor in the Royal Navy for a period. Newton went to sea at a young age and worked on slave ships in the slave trade for several years. In 1745, he himself became a slave of Princess Peye, a woman of the Sherbro people, but later returned to sea and was the captain of slave ships. Some years after experiencing a conversion to Christianity Newton later renounced his trade and became a prominent supporter of abolitionism. Now an evangelical, he was ordained as a Church of England clergyman and served as parish priest at Olney, Buckinghamshire, for two decades. Two airplanes collide at Lagos airport

A wing tip accident was witnessed at the cargo area of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos on Wednesday July 29.    The accident occurred when a Middle East Airlines plane was coming to park on the apron while a Turkish Airlines aircraft was taxiing out.   Passengers on the Turkish Airlines flight were made to disembark and it was further learnt that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) have been notified and would issue a statement on the incident.

Tekno has given fans hint that his debut album is in works. Tekno was formerly an artist in Ubi Franklin’s Made Men Music Group under which he released songs like “Dance”, “Duro”, “Pana” amongst others but did not release any album. Tekno exited MMMG after the expiration of his contract and got signed to Universal Music Group Nigeria (UMGN), a division of Universal Music Group in charge of West Africa, as well as the UK-based Island Records. It seems the singer would be releasing his first album under his new label.
