Nollywood filmmaker, Tchidi Chikere has been dragged into an exchange with a follower over his comment about bottles used to sell groundnuts in the country. 

 

Chikere, who shared a photo of some unidentified people arranging some used bottles on the floor stated that they are bottles used to sell groundnuts across the country and are picked from the garbage heap. 

 

However, after being accused of "complaining about citizens trying to make ends meet in a legit way," the filmmaker fired back by saying that the bottles picked from dustbin heap were not recycled but rinsed.

Singer Tamar Braxton has been rushed to hospital unresponsive after reports of heramid reports of a possible suicide attempt. Toni Braxton was rushed to hospital by ambulance after she was found unresponsive by her boyfriend David Adefeso at the Ritz Carlton Residences in downtown Los Angeles, it’s reported. David called 911 and said he believed it may have been a suicide attempt, according to The Blast. Russian powerlifter breaks both knees as attempt to squat 400kg goes horribly wrong in terrifying video

  The Russian powerlifting champion fractured both of his knees while attempting to squat 400kg (880lb).    Defending champion Alexander Sedykh was competing in the World Raw Powerlifting Federation (WRPF) European Championships near Moscow when the terrifying incident occurred.   In the shocking video, Sedykh's legs can be seen shaking after holding the weight on his shoulders. As he prepares for the squat with the enormous weight, both of his knees buckled horribly, and he cried out in anguish. A Nigerian doctor, Urey, who just passed out from National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, on Thursday, July 16th, has died. According to report, Urey who was a 2019 Batch B stream 2 corper, was involved in a fatal accident at Onne, Rivers state, on her way returning back home. Reports have it that the trailer lost control which led to the crash with her vehicle. Urey was a graduate of Imo state University, department of Optometry. Urey was said to have ‘struggled’ with medical school and finally got out successfully. Friends and family members have taken to social media to pen tributes to her.

  US President, Donald Trump has said he will pardon someone who is “very, very important” on Tuesday, August 18.   Trump made the announcement on Monday night, August 17, while speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One. Russia announces world's first Coronavirus vaccine which offers 'two years' immunity

  Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced that his country has finally approved the world’s first Covid-19 vaccine, saying he has tested it on his daughter and it worked.     According to Putin, the vaccine was developed at Moscow’s Gamaleya Institute, with large-scale production of the vaccine projected to start in September, while mass vaccination may begin as early as October.                    The vaccine has undergone less than two months of human testing, but Putin, speaking to government officials on Tuesday, August 11 said one of his two daughters was among those who already had a shot at the new vaccine. NJC recommends 22 judges to Buhari for appointment to Supreme Court and others
