Ten of Africa’s biggest musical artists are uniting to record “Stand Together”, a rallying call to all Africans to unite against COVID-19.

With artists from seven African countries, the song is a powerful reminder that no one is safe from COVID-19 until everyone is protected from the disease.

Participating artists include 2Baba (Nigeria), Ben Pol (Tanzania), Teni (Nigeria), Yemi Alade (Nigeria), Amanda Black (South Africa), Stanley Enow (Cameroon), Gigi la Mayne (South Africa), Prodigio (Angola), Betty G (Ethiopia) and Ahmed Soultan (Morocco).

“Stand Together” is produced by Cobhams Asuquo, with video production credit in partnership with MTV Base and the Nelson Mandela Foundation.

What makes their union even more interesting is the fact that they are always at peace with each other despite having to share love of one man. AMAC council secretary, Rahmat Abdullahi describes the 'indescribable pain and trauma' experienced after she contracted Coronavirus and infected her daughter

Rahmat Abdullahi, the Council Secretary of Abuja Municipal Area Council revealed that she contracted Covid-19 "in the course of service" and she infected her daughter.   She explained that it was a period of "indescribable pain and trauma".   Thankfully, both mother and daughter are better now and have returned home.   She wrote: "I contracted #COVID19 in the course of service then shared the virus with my daughter. Indescribable pain and trauma... Today, my lovely daughter and I are back home hale and hearty. AlhamduliLlah, and thank you all for your love and prayers. We defeated coronavirus!"

BUHARI ADVISED TO SCRAP NDDC AND NEDC BY NORTHERN GROUP

President Muhammadu Buhari-led government has been advised to scrap the Niger Delta Development Commission and the North East Development Commission for allegedly taking advantage of the masses. Isah Abubakar, National President, Northern Youth Council of Nigeria and Chairman, Nigeria Citizen Action Group, in a statement issued on Monday in Kaduna, said, “We advise that Mr President to as a matter of urgency immediately scrap this two commission so as to stop few from taking advantage of the masses.” He also advised the government to merge agencies, Ministries and commissions to cut costs and reduce corruption. The statement suggested that the Minister of Niger Delta, Godswill Akpabio should voluntarily resign his appointment to enable proper investigation of the entire ministry and Commission.
