 Doctors Deserve Hazard Pay - The Average DoctorThe father of a patient slapped and stabbed the medical doctor who was in charge of his child's case, it has been claimed.

 

A medical doctor narrated the story on Twitter as he discussed the "hazards" medical doctors are exposed to.

 

He wrote: "The kind of hazards Drs are exposed to is staggering! In Nigeria, added to the well-known hazards, we have assaults from patient relatives added! A female Dr was slapped and stabbed with a syringe (of unknown origin) in our Children's Emergency by the patient's father. For what?

 

"The young Registrar on call took a blood sample from the man's child and asked him to take it to the lab. The lab scientists (as they sometimes do) said the sample was inadequate. The man returned angrily. "Where is that Dr that is wasting my child's blood?" Gbas gbas gbos.

 

"The hospital needs to have a policy on assault on doctors. These things keep repeating! A doctor once had to have a CT scan done 2 rule out a head injury after being assaulted by a patient's relatives. Doctors have to feel safe in their work environment! It is unacceptable that we don't!"

Lady arrested for staging her own kidnap says she did it to test her sister's love for her (photo)

A 37-year-old woman, Torkwase Queen Ayakpa, who was arrested by men of the FCT police command for staging her own kidnap, says she did it to find out if her sister loves her.   Ayakpa was one of 24 suspects paraded by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command for various offenses on Wednesday, July 29.   Ayakpa, who is a hairstylist, conspired with one Fidelis Ikule, 36, to stage her kidnap. She told the police that she also did it to extort N20, 000 from her sister because her hairstyling business was no longer doing well due to the coronavirus pandemic.   Ayakpa, a native of Benue state and Fidelis, were arrested after the police traced the calls they were making for the ransom to Fidelis's house in Mashafa Village, Mpape, Abuja, where they were holing up.

Alexis Sanchez joins Inter Milan on three-year deal from Manchester United

Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez has joined Inter Milan on a permanent three-year deal.  The 31-year-old Chilean forward, who scored just five goals in 45 appearances for United, has been on loan at Inter since August 2019, but the move has now been made permanent after sealing a free transfer.    Sanchez, who was earning up to an eye-watering £560,000-per-week at United will now take a substantial pay cut that will see him earn £130,000-a-week after tax in Milan.     "FC Internazionale Milano announces that Alexis Sanchez has joined the Nerazzurri on a free transfer. The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, has linked some members of the National Assembly to some contracts awarded by the Niger Delta Development Commission.   Punch reports that Akpabio in a list in which he copied the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, enlisted the former Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on the NDDC, Nicholas Mutu, who represents the Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency of Delta State, as one of the lawmakers that have been awarded contracts by the Commission.
