Governor Sanwo-Olu says he'll like to meet 'mummy calm down' internet sensation

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has expressed his desire meet the little boy in the catchy "mummy calm down" viral video. 

 

The Lagos state Governor who noted that the exchange between the little boy and his mother was funny, stated that it depicts the efforts parents put in moulding children into responsible adults.

He also urged Lagosians to ‘calm down’ as they enjoy the coming holiday and festivity, and also to observe prescribed protocols towards defeating the deadly Coronavirus which are, maintaining social distancing, washing and sanitizing our hands, and using our face masks.
 

A post shared on his official Instagram page read; 

 

I saw a video of one charming young boy online asking his mom to ‘calm down’ as she was set to punish him for his misdemeanour.
I was moved by his sobriety, which reflected in his promise of “last chance”, when confronted with the fact that he is a regular offender. 
 
The exchange was indeed funny, but it depicts the efforts parents put in moulding children into responsible adults. I want to assume that his mom indeed calmed down because the appeal was moving enough to make anyone change their mind.
 
Interestingly, the video inspired this special message to the good people of Lagos State because of the deeper meaning it conveys. 

Fellow Lagosians, we need to ‘calm down’ as we enjoy the coming holiday and festivity.
 
It is a commemoration of Prophet Ibrahim’s heart of sacrifice and faith in Allah.
We need to emulate and demonstrate his sense of self-restraint at this time the world is combating the scourge of COVID-19.
 
We need to be moderate in our celebration and also observe prescribed protocols towards defeating the deadly coronavirus, which are, maintaining social distancing, washing and sanitizing our hands, and using our face masks.
The world needs responsibility and commitment of its people to oust coronavirus.
 
I urge every Lagosian to ‘calm down’ and not get carried away by the ‘excitement of the moment’. Like the rest of the world, we are still in the middle of a pandemic and need to remain extremely careful to keep the gains of the sacrifices we have all made in the past months. 
 
Let’s calm down!
 
 Meanwhile, I would like to meet the young boy since we both have exclusive right to the phrasal verb ‘calm down’.

No life lost as boat with 10 passengers capsizes in Lagos (photos)

No life was lost after a boat capsized at Marine Police Head-quarter, Awolowo Road, Ikoyi on Tuesday night July 28.   According to a statement released this morning by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency LASEMA, The boat capsized while en route Ikoyi from Ilashe after it t collided with an unidentified substance. A total of 10 persons(9 Adult males and a female) were involved in the incident and were rescued alive by the Marine Police in conjunction with LASEMA Response Team as no life was lost. The names of the victims are as follows Ogungbe Taiwo(Captain of the Boat) Ernest Abode Anjadick Emmanuel Isah Obima Ewere Mashack Bulus Oyefeso Oluwamayo Owoyemi Taiwo Peter Aina Oluwasanmi Lawal Gbolahan and Chinasa Temitope(female) The second boat was recovered from the water ten minutes after the first one which had 7 victims on board and the total number of victims rescued now 17 in number ( 16 Males and 1 female).

A Nigerian man has shared his experience with a lady who stopped on the road to interrogate him after she saw him walking around with his disgruntled niece.   According to Twitter user @Ebuka_Eclat, he was walking along the road in Lagos with his niece who was visibly angry when the lady stopped and took her time to inquire who the ''angry child'' was to him. Woman robbed of her baby and thrown into septic tank is rescued after three days

  A woman has been rescued from a septic tank three days after a man who stole her baby from her threw her in there.   The nursing mother, named Mrs Chizoba Eke was pulled alive but injured from the septic tank of an incomplete building located in Igwuruta, Ikwerre Local Government Area, Rivers State.   Her attacker, simply identified as Chinedu was apprehended when he tried to traffic her six months old baby through Omerelu, Rivers border with Imo State.   Mrs Eke, the nursing mother was kidnapped from her home with her baby on August 17, 2020, and forced into a septic tank after a severe assault by her abductor.   The husband of the victim, Mr Eke, also alleged that Chinedu had attempted to rape his wife when she was pregnant with the newborn.   Mr Eke said, “I was invited by the police to come and identify our baby, having lodged a complaint when both my wife and baby went missing.    Oluwayemisi Mafe, a victim of spousal abuse, has detailed how her wedding day turned out to be a sad day for her as it heralded years of abuse that left her feeling so alone and led to her mother’s death.   The marketing communications consultant said she married her husband after two years of courtship, so she thought she knew him well.
