It all started with the upcoming music act tweeting a song with the twitter handle @iamanonymous9ja where he was begging to be signed,  prompting notorious twitter user @ewawunmi to throw bants equating him to a low budget lagbaja,  even going as far as declaring he would never get a record deal.

The ensuing uproar beamed a light on the act, who in no time had record labels gunning for him. Of which he has been offered a 5 million naira recording deal, a car and an apartment.

Lebanon blast was caused by welder as death toll passes 100

It has been claimed that the huge explosion in Beirut, Lebanon, that killed over 100 people and injured more than 4,000, was caused by a welder at work.   Close to where the welder was working, there was "highly explosive sodium nitrate" confiscated from a ship by Lebanese authorities and placed in one of the warehouses located near the harbour. The ammonium nitrate - more than 2,750 tons - had been stored in the warehouse for six years.   Security sources in the country have claimed the welder sparked an initial fire that in turn ignited the chemicals, causing a blast that has been compared to a "nuclear bomb."     The blast sent seismic shockwaves through the city on Tuesday evening, August 4, destroying buildings and shattering windows.   Over 100 people died in the blast and more than 4,000 sustained varying degrees of injuries.     Many people are feared to still be trapped under the...

Former Broadway actress, Royana Black dies at 47 after battling Leukemia

Hollywood actress, Royana Black, who starred in Broadway's Brighton Beach Memoirs, has died. She was aged 47.   Black died in Los Angeles on July 14 following a battle with Leukemia, her family have revealed in her obituary announced Tuesday, July 28.   According to a GoFundMe campaign set up for her memorial, Black had acute myeloid leukemia, and her death came "very suddenly".  "Royana's incredible energy and spirit will be a part of our lives forever, and her friends and family want to remember her and assist her husband, JP, at this most difficult time," the statement on the GoFundme page read. "We are shocked by the outpouring of support from friends and fans. UNIBEN LECTURER DEAD AFTER BEEN HIT BY A COMMERCIAL BUS CHASED BY POLICE MEN

A lecturer at the University of Benin in Edo State, Dr Stella Okotie, was on Monday night crushed to death at the university’s main gate. It was gathered that the accident happened when policemen attached to Ugbowo Division were pursuing a commercial bus in a bid to extort some money from the driver. This led to a physical struggle between the driver and the policemen for the wheels. While struggling, the bus driver ran into Dr Okotie, who was standing by the main gate The deceased, who was a lecturer at the Faculty of Education, was standing with her husband, Dr Williams Okotie, also a staff of the institution and their son, Ochuko, when the incident happened. Mamman Daura denies reports he dictates to President Buhari

Pastors yet to open churches are not believers – Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

  Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of the Christian Embassy Church has described clergymen who have refused to reopen their churches as unbelievers.    Religious centres were closed in March as part of measures to contain the spread of Coronavirus. Federal and state governments have given religious organizations the go-ahead to reopen for worship. The approval came with conditions such as mandatory social distancing, wearing masks, and other protocols.   Despite the approval, some church leaders like Pastor Tunde Bakare of Latter Rain Assembly Lagos, Pastor Sam Adeyemi of Daystar Christian Centre Lagos, Pastor Poju Oyemade of Covenant Christian Centre Lagos and Pastor Paul Adefarasin of House on the Rock, Lagos, have refused to reopen their centres.    While preaching at his church on Wednesday, August 19, Oyakhilome said such pastors have denied the faith and are no longer believers.
