It all started with the upcoming music act tweeting a song with the twitter handle @iamanonymous9ja where he was begging to be signed,  prompting notorious twitter user @ewawunmi to throw bants equating him to a low budget lagbaja,  even going as far as declaring he would never get a record deal.

The ensuing uproar beamed a light on the act, who in no time had record labels gunning for him. Of which he has been offered a 5 million naira recording deal, a car and an apartment.

Boko Haram releases video of ‘members observing Eid prayer in Niger state’

Some members of the Abubakar Shekau-led faction of Boko Haram in Niger state have been spotted in a viral video observing the Eid Al-Adha prayer in an undisclosed bushy area.   Though when the video was made is still unclear, the Eid Al-Adha was however celebrated by Muslim faithful across the globe on July 31.    In the viral video, three of the supposed insurgents sent Eid greetings in Hausa, English, and Fulfulde. One the men was heard saying;    “It is we the Jamahatu Ali Sunna li Dawatul Jihad in the location of Niger State. The Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has slammed the Nigerian Army stationed in Baga, a town in Kukawa local government of the state, after suspected Boko Haram members attacked his convoy on Wednesday, July 29.   Governor Zulum had departed Maiduguri, the state capital on Monday afternoon July 27, for the northern part of the state in continuation of the food distribution programme which he started earlier in the month. Magu Probe: Olukoyede, EFCC Secretary, Suspended

Some officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have received letters of suspension, TheCable understands. Although details of those suspended are yet to be made public,  TheCable  learnt that Olanipekun Olukoyede, secretary to the commission, is among those who received the letters. The development is not unconnected to the ongoing probe of Ibrahim Magu, suspended acting chairman of the EFCC. Magu was arrested on July 6 and whisked to the presidential villa in Abuja, where he appeared before a panel set up by President Muhammadu Buhari to probe the operations of the EFCC under him. The panel is headed by Ayo Salami, retired president of the appeal court. On July 14, Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the federation (AGF), sent a letter to Mohammed Umar, acting EFCC chairman, notifying him of the suspension of 12 directors in the commission.   Movie producer Segun Ogungbe and his wives, Atinuke Ogungbe and Wunmi Ajiboye, took their new son,  Obafemi,  to church yesterday for his dedication unto God. Kemi Filani News recalls how Segun Ogunbe and his second wife, Wunmi Ajiboye, welcomed their second son in May. The newborn coincidentally arrived on the birthday of their first son, who was turning 5. Segun Ogungbe is married to two best friends, Atinuke and Wunmi Ajiboye, who is also an actor in the Yoruba movie genre. What makes their union even more interesting is the fact that they are always at peace with each other despite having to share love of one man.
