A 32-year-old man identified as Ahmad Aliyu has been rescued by men from the Kano state police command after he was locked up in a room by his father and stepmother for seven years in Farawa Babban Layi, Mariri Quarters in Kumbotso Local Government Area of the State.

 

The police came to Aliyu's rescue after a video showing his sad state went viral. Aliyu looked emaciated and dehydrated in the viral video. He has spent days without food or water and reportedly drank his own urine whenever he was tasty. A concerned neighbour alerted police in Faraway and members of a non-governmental organization, the Human Rights Network.

 

According to reports, Ahmad was “imprisoned” by his father and stepmother on the suspicion that he had started smoking and getting involved in drug consumption. The police arrested his father and step mum and took away their victim.

 

The incident comes days after a 10-year-old Down syndrome patient was rescued after his father and stepmother chained him in an animal store for over two years in Kebbi.

Anambra Police arrested a twenty-one-year-old named Obimeze Maduabuchi Augustine,  of Ofianta village, Nsugbe, in Anambra East Local Government Area of the state for allegedly having carnal knowledge of two small boys, aged five and seven respectively. A statement from the spokesperson for the state police command, SP Haruna Mohammed, said Obimese was arrested by detectives attached to B' Division, Akwa, following a tip-off. According to the statement, the suspect voluntarily confessed to the crime and blamed his actions on peer group Haruna said the state commissioner of police, CP John B. Gunmen abduct Ex-commissioner’s children and NSCDC officer in Zamfara

Gal Pissetzky, the legal representative of suspected Internet fraudster, Ramon Abass, aka Hushpuppi, has said the suspect is on his way to California, United States of America, for trial. He told The PUNCH on Wednesday night that Hushpuppi had not been released as being speculated in some quarters. Pissetzky, a Chicago lawyer, also noted that he was still his lawyer. “He has not been released and I am still his lawyer. He is on his way to California. Two young boys burnt to death over alleged phone theft in Kenya

Outrage is ongoing on social media after two boys were burnt to death for allegedly stealing a phone in Kenya. According to reports, the incident happened at the Komarock Estate in Nairobi, Kenya on Saturday 8th August.
