KILLING OF AID WORKERS IS TRAGIC AND DISHEARTENING - SHEHU SANI

A former Kaduna Central district Senator, Shehu Sani has strongly condemned the killing of aid workers by Boko Haram insurgents in Borno State.

DAILY POST reported that the aid workers were kidnapped by Boko Haram Terrorists on June 20th and were executed on Wednesday.

In a video released by the armed group while executing the humanitarian workers, the terrorists said they executed the abducted aid workers living in their custody for a month in Borno state, having exhausted the days given for the ransom.

Reacting, Shehu Sani described the execution as ‘sad and tragic.’

He, therefore, called for the protection of all aid workers in the country.


“The execution of the five aid workers by the insurgents is sad and tragic. It’s a serious set back to the humanitarian intervention in the North East.

“Aid Workers must be protected & rescued by all means in times of trouble. May their souls Rest In Peace. Amin,” he said.

21-year-old man arrested for allegedly sodomizing underaged boys in Anambra

Anambra Police arrested a twenty-one-year-old named Obimeze Maduabuchi Augustine,  of Ofianta village, Nsugbe, in Anambra East Local Government Area of the state for allegedly having carnal knowledge of two small boys, aged five and seven respectively. A statement from the spokesperson for the state police command, SP Haruna Mohammed, said Obimese was arrested by detectives attached to B' Division, Akwa, following a tip-off. According to the statement, the suspect voluntarily confessed to the crime and blamed his actions on peer group Haruna said the state commissioner of police, CP John B. Abang, had ordered the transfer of the case to the state criminal investigation department (CID) for discreet investigations after which the suspect would be charged to court.

Gunmen abduct Ex-commissioner’s children and NSCDC officer in Zamfara

  Several unknown gunmen have abducted the two sons of   Bello Dankande, a former Zamfara commissioner alongside an officer of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).    The incident, which took place at Dankande’s residence in Gamji, Bakura local government area of the state on Tuesday August 18, left one person dead and a woman with injuries.    Spokesperson of Zamfara state police command, Muhammad Shehu who confirmed the incident said police officers are already on the trail of the kidnappers.    He said;  “At about 4:30am, a large number of armed men invaded the house and kidnapped two of his children and two others including an NSCDC officer on guard duty at the house. “One person was shot dead, while a woman was wounded in the process. “The Command further assures the former commissioner and indeed all the people of the state that it would do everything possible to get the abductees released and back ...

12 EFCC Officials Suspended Indefinitely

12 Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officials have been suspended indefinitely after being quizzed by the Presidential Investigation Committee, headed by Justice Isa Ayo Salami (red). The new development comes days after 12 directors of the agency were suspended by the Presidency in relation to the ongoing probe of suspended Acting Chairman of the commission, Ibrahim Magu. According to reports, some of the directors affected by the suspension had been a part of the team investigating the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN). The agency’s Secretary, Olanipekun Olukoyede was suspended while others affected by the suspension include Kabir Latona, Muhammed Abba, Ibrahim Buhari, Rotimi Oyedepo. Boy claims his mother scarred his face because he broke a plate, then sent him out to beg for alms (video)

  The boy was found looking unkempt while begging on the streets and when questioned, he opened up about being abused by his mother.   A Good Samaritan who sighted the boy asked why he was out in the street and he said that his mother sent him out to look for what they would eat.    The boy named Emma explained that the mark on his face was given to him by his mother because he broke a plate while washing it. The Good Samaritan asked in disbelief if the woman was his mother or stepmother and he said it was his biological mother.   The boy, who looks no older than 12 years old, also revealed that he doesn't go to school but spends his time begging to provide for his family.   Watch the video below.

Hushpuppi not released yet, says US lawyer

Gal Pissetzky, the legal representative of suspected Internet fraudster, Ramon Abass, aka Hushpuppi, has said the suspect is on his way to California, United States of America, for trial. He told The PUNCH on Wednesday night that Hushpuppi had not been released as being speculated in some quarters. Pissetzky, a Chicago lawyer, also noted that he was still his lawyer. “He has not been released and I am still his lawyer. He is on his way to California. Not everything you see on court documents is accurate. “Just because the jail record says ‘released’ does not mean he has been released. He is being transferred to California,” he told the PUNCH correspondent on the phone. Hushpuppi is facing trial for alleged Internet fraud.
