"It’s a shameful thing" LGBTQ Rights advocate Pamela Adie condemns celebrities who apologize for their homophobic behaviors for their benefits

Pamela Adie has criticized Simi and other celebrities who apologize for their homophobic behavior or comments for selfish reasons.

 

The LGBTQ Rights advocate said it is shameful. She added that members of the LGBTQ community are not toys that celebrities can use to benefit from projects that are good for their image.

 

She wrote: "There seems to be a trend of people “apologizing” for homophobic behavior/comments just in time to benefit from participating in things or projects that are good for their image. It’s a shameful thing. So, I understand how some may see Simi's apology as one of these tactics.

 

"The truth is that we’re sick of homophobes using proximity to the community to further their careers and relevance. We’re not toys. Our feelings are real and our lives matter. It needs to stop. I respect organizations that listen and take action; like Quazar."

21-year-old man arrested for allegedly sodomizing underaged boys in Anambra

Anambra Police arrested a twenty-one-year-old named Obimeze Maduabuchi Augustine,  of Ofianta village, Nsugbe, in Anambra East Local Government Area of the state for allegedly having carnal knowledge of two small boys, aged five and seven respectively. A statement from the spokesperson for the state police command, SP Haruna Mohammed, said Obimese was arrested by detectives attached to B' Division, Akwa, following a tip-off. According to the statement, the suspect voluntarily confessed to the crime and blamed his actions on peer group Haruna said the state commissioner of police, CP John B. Abang, had ordered the transfer of the case to the state criminal investigation department (CID) for discreet investigations after which the suspect would be charged to court.

Gunmen abduct Ex-commissioner’s children and NSCDC officer in Zamfara

  Several unknown gunmen have abducted the two sons of   Bello Dankande, a former Zamfara commissioner alongside an officer of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).    The incident, which took place at Dankande’s residence in Gamji, Bakura local government area of the state on Tuesday August 18, left one person dead and a woman with injuries.    Spokesperson of Zamfara state police command, Muhammad Shehu who confirmed the incident said police officers are already on the trail of the kidnappers.    He said;  “At about 4:30am, a large number of armed men invaded the house and kidnapped two of his children and two others including an NSCDC officer on guard duty at the house. “One person was shot dead, while a woman was wounded in the process. “The Command further assures the former commissioner and indeed all the people of the state that it would do everything possible to get the abductees released and back ...

A Nigerian doctor, Urey, who just passed out from National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, on Thursday, July 16th, has died. According to report, Urey who was a 2019 Batch B stream 2 corper, was involved in a fatal accident at Onne, Rivers state, on her way returning back home. Reports have it that the trailer lost control which led to the crash with her vehicle. Urey was a graduate of Imo state University, department of Optometry. Gal Pissetzky, the legal representative of suspected Internet fraudster, Ramon Abass, aka Hushpuppi, has said the suspect is on his way to California, United States of America, for trial. He told The PUNCH on Wednesday night that Hushpuppi had not been released as being speculated in some quarters. Pissetzky, a Chicago lawyer, also noted that he was still his lawyer. “He has not been released and I am still his lawyer. He is on his way to California. Not everything you see on court documents is accurate. “Just because the jail record says ‘released’ does not mean he has been released. He is being transferred to California,” he told the PUNCH correspondent on the phone. Hushpuppi is facing trial for alleged Internet fraud.

  Taylor Swift has donated over £23,000 to a teenager who started a GoFundMe appeal so she can go to University.   Vitoria Mario, a Tottenham teenager, wants to become a mathematician. Two young boys burnt to death over alleged phone theft in Kenya

Outrage is ongoing on social media after two boys were burnt to death for allegedly stealing a phone in Kenya. According to reports, the incident happened at the Komarock Estate in Nairobi, Kenya on Saturday 8th August. Reports are that they were allegedly nabbed by bike riders who then beat and stripped them before burning them alive.
