  The father of a patient slapped and stabbed the medical doctor who was in charge of his child's case, it has been claimed.   A medical doctor narrated the story on Twitter as he discussed the "hazards" medical doctors are exposed to.   He wrote: "The kind of hazards Drs are exposed to is staggering! In Nigeria, added to the well-known hazards, we have assaults from patient relatives added! A female Dr was slapped and stabbed with a syringe (of unknown origin) in our Children's Emergency by the patient's father. For what?   "The young Registrar on call took a blood sample from the man's child and asked him to take it to the lab. The lab scientists (as they sometimes do) said the sample was inadequate. Somali regional minister shot dead by unknown gunmen

  A Somali regional minister has been shot dead by unknown gunmen in the town of Jowhar, middle Shabelle region.  Abdifatah Hassan, a police official in Jowhar town, told Anadolu Agency over the phone that Hirshabelle State Agriculture Minister Abdukadir Abukar was shot dead minutes after the evening prayer on Monday, August 17.  "The gunmen attacked minister Abdukadir Abukar while he was going to his house from a nearby mosque," Hassan said, adding the attackers fled the scene. He said security forces immediately rushed to the scene after the shooting and started an investigation into the incident.  Authorities believe the al-Shabaab group is behind the attack.
