Nigerian-trained US-based doctor threatens Facebook for taking down her posts after she said on national TV that she has cured COVID-19 patients with hydroxychloroquine

Nigerian-trained US-based medical doctor who went viral when she said she has cured hundreds of Covid-19 patients with hydroxychloroquine, has threatened Facebook for taking down her page following her viral interview.   Dr Stella Immanuel spoke out during a press conference at Washington. She stated that the antimalarial drug, hydroxychloroquine, zinc, and antibacterial drug, Zithromax were effective in the treatment of Coronavirus. She went on to accuse her colleagues, public figures, and pharmaceutical companies of cover-up (read  here ).   In another video, she challenged CNN host Chris Cuomo and physician Anthony Fauci. Facebook, Twitter delete videos of doctor making COVID-19 cure claims

Social media platforms like  Facebook  and  Twitter  as well as video streaming site, Youtube, have deleted videos by an American-based physician, Dr Stella Immanuel, who claimed to have recorded a 100 per cent success rate in the treatment of COVID-19 using hydroxychloroquine. The video was first published by Breitbart News, a right-wing medium co-founded by Steve Bannon, a former aide to American President, Donald Trump. In the video, which was shot in front of the United States Supreme Court, Dr Immanuel is seen with seven others wearing white lab coats calling themselves “America’s Frontline Doctors” and addressing the press. President Trump, who is up for reelection in November, shared multiple versions of the video with his 84 million  Twitter  followers on Monday night. Magu Probe: Olukoyede, EFCC Secretary, Suspended

Some officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have received letters of suspension, TheCable understands. Although details of those suspended are yet to be made public,  TheCable  learnt that Olanipekun Olukoyede, secretary to the commission, is among those who received the letters. The development is not unconnected to the ongoing probe of Ibrahim Magu, suspended acting chairman of the EFCC. Magu was arrested on July 6 and whisked to the presidential villa in Abuja, where he appeared before a panel set up by President Muhammadu Buhari to probe the operations of the EFCC under him. The panel is headed by Ayo Salami, retired president of the appeal court. On July 14, Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the federation (AGF), sent a letter to Mohammed Umar, acting EFCC chairman, notifying him of the suspension of 12 directors in the commission. Woman robbed of her baby and thrown into septic tank is rescued after three days

  A woman has been rescued from a septic tank three days after a man who stole her baby from her threw her in there.   The nursing mother, named Mrs Chizoba Eke was pulled alive but injured from the septic tank of an incomplete building located in Igwuruta, Ikwerre Local Government Area, Rivers State.   Her attacker, simply identified as Chinedu was apprehended when he tried to traffic her six months old baby through Omerelu, Rivers border with Imo State.   Mrs Eke, the nursing mother was kidnapped from her home with her baby on August 17, 2020, and forced into a septic tank after a severe assault by her abductor.   The husband of the victim, Mr Eke, also alleged that Chinedu had attempted to rape his wife when she was pregnant with the newborn.   Mr Eke said, “I was invited by the police to come and identify our baby, having lodged a complaint when both my wife and baby went missing.   Olusola Babatunde, a final year student at Ladoke Akintola University and social media influencer who was arrested for creating a parody Twitter account of former President Goodluck Jonathan, has been released after spending 82 days in detention.   Media personality and Convener of #RevolutionNow protest, Omoyele Sowore, announced his release via Twitter.
