Man Accused Of Using Coronavirus Relief Funds To Buy $318k Lamborghini

A Florida man has been accused of fraudulently obtaining nearly $4 million from the Paycheck Protection Program and using part of the money to buy a $318,000 Lamborghini. The man, David T. Hines, 29, of Miami, was arrested Friday July 24 and charged with one count of bank fraud, one count of making false statements to a financial institution and one count of engaging in transactions in unlawful proceeds, the Department of Justice said in a news release. Federal agents seized the car, valued at $318,000, and $3.4 million from his bank accounts when he was arrested, the Justice Department said. The criminal complaint against Hines was unsealed on Monday July 27, upon his initial appearance before U.S. Chief Magistrate Judge John J. O’Sullivan in the Southern District of Florida. The complaint alleges that Hines sought approximately $13.5 million in PPP loans through applications on behalf of several companies, the DOJ news release said. An accident victim allegedly wants to file a lawsuit against a doctor for giving him blood to revive him. The man was reportedly taken to the hospital after he suffered an accident that nearly cost him his life. The doctor on duty did a blood transfusion to save him and he soon regained consciousness. He was upset when he found out he was given blood and he has threatened to sue the doctor for doing something that is against his faith. The revelation led to an argument on Twitter after one user said the doctor should have respected his faith. Others asked how the doctor would have known that his faith doesn't permit blood transfusion when the man was unconscious and couldn't object.

Two confirmed dead and many properties razed as gas explosion rocks Ajao estate in Lagos (photos/video)

Two persons have been confirmed dead in a gas explosion that rocked Afariogun Street in the Ajao area of Lagos State this evening Tuesday, July 28. The explosion started from a shop used in refilling gas cylinders. Nine shops were razed in the explosion and a number of cars were also burnt. According to reports, the accident happened after a 62-year-old woman, who runs a cooking gas shop and her 32-year-old daughter were called back to their shop to attend to a “regular customer” who came to fill a gas cylinder. The woman returned and successfully attended to the customer. However, the sad incident happened when the customer tried putting the gas cylinder into a waiting tricycle, it fell and exploded.
