Talented singer and Popular songwriter, Adekunle Gold has released his highly anticipated third studio album dubbed Afro-Pop Volume 1.

The album comes packed with 10 tracks. Released under EMI with licensing from Universal Music Operations Limited. The 33-year-old had earlier released some tracks as lead singles like AG Baby featuring Nailah Blackman. Magu Probe: Olukoyede, EFCC Secretary, Suspended

Some officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have received letters of suspension, TheCable understands. Although details of those suspended are yet to be made public,  TheCable  learnt that Olanipekun Olukoyede, secretary to the commission, is among those who received the letters. The development is not unconnected to the ongoing probe of Ibrahim Magu, suspended acting chairman of the EFCC. Magu was arrested on July 6 and whisked to the presidential villa in Abuja, where he appeared before a panel set up by President Muhammadu Buhari to probe the operations of the EFCC under him. The panel is headed by Ayo Salami, retired president of the appeal court. On July 14, Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the federation (AGF), sent a letter to Mohammed Umar, acting EFCC chairman, notifying him of the suspension of 12 directors in the commission. Demitra “Mimi” Roche, who appeared on the Oxygen reality show “Bad Girls Club,” has passed away at the age of 34. Record producer and founder of Valholla Entertainment in Miami, where Roche had worked as vice president of A&R since 2011, announced her death via Twitter. “I’m at a loss for words. Don’t know what to say,” Valholla wrote in his post. “Mimi was kind to everyone she came across. She was [a] big dreamer and was a part of our Valholla family. I’m heartbroken by the news of her passing. I’m thankful I got to know and work with her. NDDC Spent N4.2b In One Day, Akpabio Tells Reps

Contract splitting is rampant in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Niger Delta Affairs Minister Godswill Akpabio, said on Monday. According to him, the management of the agency indulges in splitting contracts to outwit the minister and evade approval. Speaking before the House of Representatives Committee on Niger Delta in Abuja, the minister alleged that the agency spent “over N4.2 billion in a day in tranches of N49 million.” The committee is probing how N40 billion was spent by the Interim Management Committee (IMC). Akpabio was invited with the Acting Managing Director of the NDDC, Prof. Kemebradikumo Pondei. Pondei fainted during the proceedings and had to be revived and taken to the hospital. A new mum whose stitches didn't heal for 8 months after childbirth has disclosed what was found in her body when she was referred to another doctor.   The mum said that for 8 months, she was dressing her wounds but it refused to heal. She explained that her doctor didn't take it seriously and kept telling her that it will heal eventually.   She was later referred to another doctor who then told her that something must be in there. Drake breaks Madonna’s record for most US Top 10 hits

Rapper and record producer, Drake has beaten Madonna’s record for the highest number of Top 10 hits in US chart history.   The Canadian born rapper broke the record after his collaboration with DJ Khaled, Popstar polled at No 3 while Greece charted at No 8 this week, bringing his total Top 10 hits to 40 and beating Madonna’s record of 38.   In March, he also broke the record for the most hits in the US Hot 100, at 208 but as at July that tally has now reached 224, aided by his most recent full-length release, Dark Lane Demo Tapes, which came out in May.
