Court orders arrest of former NASS Clerk, Sani Omolori

A federal high court in Abuja has issued a warrant for the arrest of the immediate past Clerk of the National Assembly, Mohammed Omolori.

 

This is coming after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) filed an application before the court, alleging that the respondent had ignored its invitation for him to report to its office following a petition filed against him. 

 

The anti-graft agency which said it is investigating the diversion of 14 Toyota Hilux vehicles and 13 Peugeot 508 valued at over N400 million, disclosed that it has invited the Secretary of the National Assembly Commission, Adamu Fika, Mr Oluseye Ajakaye and others to its office.

 

The EFCC noted that the invitees made revelations indicting Mr Omolori who refused to honor its invitation on two occassions. 

 

Justice Suleman Belgore who listened to EFCC's counsel S.N. Robert, granted the order the agency sought,

  Nollywood filmmaker, Tchidi Chikere has been dragged into an exchange with a follower over his comment about bottles used to sell groundnuts in the country.    Chikere, who shared a photo of some unidentified people arranging some used bottles on the floor stated that they are bottles used to sell groundnuts across the country and are picked from the garbage heap.    However, after being accused of "complaining about citizens trying to make ends meet in a legit way," the filmmaker fired back by saying that the bottles picked from dustbin heap were not recycled but rinsed.

Man who impersonated Goodluck Jonathan speaks after spending 3 months in detention

  Shola, a young Nigerian who was arrested for creating a Goodluck Jonathan parody Twitter account, has reacted following his release from prison.   Shola made it clear that he wasn't trying to impersonate the former Nigerian president because he indicated in his Twitter bio that it was a parody account.   He added that he shared a tweet on May 5 and was arrested on May 23 after his telecommunications service provider gave them his information without his consent.   He wrote: "The telecommunications service provider gave out my data without my consent which is really bad, my privacy was invaded. They got 5 numbers in which my uncle’s digit was among. Self-acclaimed "King of feminism", Solomon Buchi has denounced the movement and he gave reasons for his action.   Solomon Buchi has been a vocal feminist on Instagram and Twitter for years.
