 Woman recounts how her uncle told her mum that sheA Twitter user has told women that they will always be called "Ashewo" once they become successful, even by family.

 

She went on to narrate how her uncle visited her in Port Harcourt, then returned home to tell her mother that she was into sex work back in Port Harcourt because there was no way she could afford the kind of apartment she lived in.

 

She said he was surprised to find out that her mum was the one who paid the house rent for her.

 

She added: "Ashawo is what you will get, even from family, know that and no peace."

Her statement comes after journalist Kiki Mordi questioned why the success of most wealthy women is almost always attributed to sex work (read here).

Woman robbed of her baby and thrown into septic tank is rescued after three days

  A woman has been rescued from a septic tank three days after a man who stole her baby from her threw her in there.   The nursing mother, named Mrs Chizoba Eke was pulled alive but injured from the septic tank of an incomplete building located in Igwuruta, Ikwerre Local Government Area, Rivers State.   Her attacker, simply identified as Chinedu was apprehended when he tried to traffic her six months old baby through Omerelu, Rivers border with Imo State.   Mrs Eke, the nursing mother was kidnapped from her home with her baby on August 17, 2020, and forced into a septic tank after a severe assault by her abductor.   The husband of the victim, Mr Eke, also alleged that Chinedu had attempted to rape his wife when she was pregnant with the newborn.   Mr Eke said, “I was invited by the police to come and identify our baby, having lodged a complaint when both my wife and baby went missing. A mother drowned in front of her son and his friend after she jumped into the sea to save them.   The woman, who is in her 30s and has been named locally as Danni, went to the boys' rescue when they got into difficulty in a kayak yesterday, August 9.   The body of the woman was later pulled lifeless from the water after being caught out by the strong current at Waxham beach in the Norfolk United Kingdom.   Horrified onlookers tried in vain to resuscitate her before paramedics took over, but she was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.   The sad incident happened at about 5.30pm on Sunday, while the beach was packed with people.   The beach and nearby Sea Palling are notorious for having dangerous riptides which can sweep away unsuspecting swimmers.   Emergency services including Coastguard teams, ambulances, local paramedics and a rescue helicopter were sent to the scene after HM Coastguard received "multiple calls" about several people in ...

A hardhat died and at least three other people were hurt in a chain-reaction accident Thursday at a Manhattan building undergoing facade repair work, authorities said. Disaster struck at about 4:20 p.m. as a section of parapet fell from a 12-story condo building on E. 36th St. near Lexington Ave. in Murray Hill, said officials. 7 members of a family die of food poisoning in Zamfara, husband runs mad

  A food poisoning incident at  Auki village of Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State has left 7 members of the same family, consisting of five children and two housewives, dead.    It was further learnt that the husband of the late woman, Mallam Hassan lawali also developed a psychiatric disorder after eating food prepared with corn on Tuesday night.    An eyewitness told Nigerian Tribune; “After they ate the food, they started to develop stomach pains, three died instantly while four people were taken to General Hospital, Bungudu where they were also pronounced dead”. While the Doctor on duty confirmed that the members of the family died of food poisoning, it was also gathered that Mallam Hassan could neither speak nor eat.
