Woman recounts how her uncle told her mum that she's a prostitute because he was shocked at the kind of apartment she was living in
A Twitter user has told women that they will always be called "Ashewo" once they become successful, even by family.
She went on to narrate how her uncle visited her in Port Harcourt, then returned home to tell her mother that she was into sex work back in Port Harcourt because there was no way she could afford the kind of apartment she lived in.
She said he was surprised to find out that her mum was the one who paid the house rent for her.
She added: "Ashawo is what you will get, even from family, know that and no peace."
Her statement comes after journalist Kiki Mordi questioned why the success of most wealthy women is almost always attributed to sex work (read here).
