Simi apologies to LGBTQ community for homophobic comments

Popular Nigerian singer, Simisola tendered and apology to the LGBTQ community in Nigeria for the homophobic comments she made earlier this year.

LGBTQ - Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning (or Queer)

Earlier this year mother of Adejare, Simi said homosexuality is not Natural, during her YouTube show, Stoopid Sessions;

from her statement

“They say they’re born that way, but I haven’t seen any biological proof,”.

The comment which the LGBTQ community finds offensive and lash at her saying she is being a hypocrite for sympathizing with abroad blackness while promoting 'local homophobic violence Against their own

Today 3rd of August 2020, Simi hase taken to her Twitter page to apologise for the earlier comment. According to her, she carelessly addressed the issue which is a matter of life and death.

Borno state governor, Babagana Zulum slams soldiers after an attack on his convoy

The Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has slammed the Nigerian Army stationed in Baga, a town in Kukawa local government of the state, after suspected Boko Haram members attacked his convoy on Wednesday, July 29.   Governor Zulum had departed Maiduguri, the state capital on Monday afternoon July 27, for the northern part of the state in continuation of the food distribution programme which he started earlier in the month. Nigerian-trained US-based medical doctor who went viral when she said she has cured hundreds of Covid-19 patients with hydroxychloroquine, has threatened Facebook for taking down her page following her viral interview.   Dr Stella Immanuel spoke out during a press conference at Washington. She stated that the antimalarial drug, hydroxychloroquine, zinc, and antibacterial drug, Zithromax were effective in the treatment of Coronavirus. She went on to accuse her colleagues, public figures, and pharmaceutical companies of cover-up (read  here ).   In another video, she challenged CNN host Chris Cuomo and physician Anthony Fauci. Facebook, Twitter delete videos of doctor making COVID-19 cure claims

Social media platforms like  Facebook  and  Twitter  as well as video streaming site, Youtube, have deleted videos by an American-based physician, Dr Stella Immanuel, who claimed to have recorded a 100 per cent success rate in the treatment of COVID-19 using hydroxychloroquine. The video was first published by Breitbart News, a right-wing medium co-founded by Steve Bannon, a former aide to American President, Donald Trump. In the video, which was shot in front of the United States Supreme Court, Dr Immanuel is seen with seven others wearing white lab coats calling themselves “America’s Frontline Doctors” and addressing the press. President Trump, who is up for reelection in November, shared multiple versions of the video with his 84 million  Twitter  followers on Monday night. Police arrest men for violating COVID-19 curfew, then lock him up in a crowded cell

Taking to social media, some Nigerian man in Lagos state, lamented about their experience at the police cell. According to them, they were arrested for flouting the 10pm curfew put in place by the Federal government to curb the spread of  COVID-19  in the state. According to the men, there was heavy traffic in Lagos on Wednesday, so they couldn’t beat the curfew hour. The police officers enforcing the traffic in Ikeja arrested them and threw them in a crowded cell where none of the COVID-19 protocols such as social distancing was observed. Twitter user, Osinaike Joseph, who shared videos from the cell, alleged that the police officers refused to release some of them who were visibly sick. They accused the police of demanding bribe from them before their release. Woman robbed of her baby and thrown into septic tank is rescued after three days

  A woman has been rescued from a septic tank three days after a man who stole her baby from her threw her in there.   The nursing mother, named Mrs Chizoba Eke was pulled alive but injured from the septic tank of an incomplete building located in Igwuruta, Ikwerre Local Government Area, Rivers State.   Her attacker, simply identified as Chinedu was apprehended when he tried to traffic her six months old baby through Omerelu, Rivers border with Imo State.   Mrs Eke, the nursing mother was kidnapped from her home with her baby on August 17, 2020, and forced into a septic tank after a severe assault by her abductor.   The husband of the victim, Mr Eke, also alleged that Chinedu had attempted to rape his wife when she was pregnant with the newborn.   Mr Eke said, “I was invited by the police to come and identify our baby, having lodged a complaint when both my wife and baby went missing.   Veteran Yoruba actress Grace Oyin-Adejobi, popularly known as Iya Osogbo, will officially retire from acting when she clocks 90 on Sunday, August 23. Iya Osogbo is the widow of the late Yoruba actor Oyin Adejobi who died in 2000. During an appearance on a radio magazine programme on Space 90.1FM, Parrot Extra Hour on Radio, anchored by Olayinka Agboola in Ibadan, Oyo State, Iya Osogbo said she started her acting career some 67 years ago. She noted that she had already made her name before she acted in the movie  Eran Iya Osogbo  contrary to beliefs.
