Man dies after falling off vehicle in Anambra

A man has died after falling out of a vehicle in an accident involving two vehicles in Anambra state.

 

The incident occurred this morning, August 5, near the Golden Tulip Hotels Junction, Agulu in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.

 

It was between a Toyota Highlander with enlistment number FGG33KJ and Hijet Daihatsu Pickup vehicle without a registration number

 

The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr Andrew Kumapayi said that the accident was allegedly caused by lane diversion.

 

Kumapayi said that according to eyewitnesses, four people were in the pickup vehicle, with two seated inside and two in the open back of the pickup.  As both vehicles tried to dodge the potholes in their lane, the pickup vehicle rammed into the Toyota and one of the people inside the back of the pickup fell and hit his head on the road. Unfortunately, he didn't survive.

 

A total of five men were involved in the accident, four of whom were in the pickup vehicle and one in the Toyota Highlander.

 

Two of the men sustained injuries and were taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Adazi Nnukwu. The corpse of the dead was deposited at the same hospital

Gal Pissetzky, the legal representative of suspected Internet fraudster, Ramon Abass, aka Hushpuppi, has said the suspect is on his way to California, United States of America, for trial. He told The PUNCH on Wednesday night that Hushpuppi had not been released as being speculated in some quarters. Pissetzky, a Chicago lawyer, also noted that he was still his lawyer. “He has not been released and I am still his lawyer. He is on his way to California. Not everything you see on court documents is accurate. “Just because the jail record says ‘released’ does not mean he has been released. He is being transferred to California,” he told the PUNCH correspondent on the phone. Hushpuppi is facing trial for alleged Internet fraud.

Man Accused Of Using Coronavirus Relief Funds To Buy $318k Lamborghini

A Florida man has been accused of fraudulently obtaining nearly $4 million from the Paycheck Protection Program and using part of the money to buy a $318,000 Lamborghini. The man, David T. Hines, 29, of Miami, was arrested Friday July 24 and charged with one count of bank fraud, one count of making false statements to a financial institution and one count of engaging in transactions in unlawful proceeds, the Department of Justice said in a news release. Federal agents seized the car, valued at $318,000, and $3.4 million from his bank accounts when he was arrested, the Justice Department said. The criminal complaint against Hines was unsealed on Monday July 27, upon his initial appearance before U.S. Chief Magistrate Judge John J. O’Sullivan in the Southern District of Florida. Singer Tamar Braxton has been rushed to hospital unresponsive after reports of heramid reports of a possible suicide attempt. A Nigerian doctor, Urey, who just passed out from National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, on Thursday, July 16th, has died.
