40 #RevolutionNow protesters arrested in Abuja (photos)

Security agents in Abuja have reportedly arrested over forty men and women participating in the Revolution Now protest initiated by the publisher of SaharaReporters, Omoyele Sowore.

Protesters carrying placards and banners had set out as early as 8 a.m. to demand good governance from the Buhari-led administration. Some of their placards read, ‘Nigerians are sick and tired of poverty, corruption, injustice and untimely death’; ‘Say no to injustice’, ‘Yes to a living wage for unemployed youths’

The security agents which include police and the Army stormed the Unity centre in Abuja, where protesters converged, dispersed them and got some of them arrested.

Sowore, who shared photos of the arrested protesters online wrote:

''Nigerian security agents subjecting peaceful #RevolutionNow protesters to inhumane and degrading treatment at Unity Fountain in Abuja.''
