The screening for the 2020 admission processes will commence on September 7 in universities, polytechnics and colleges of education. I apologize for supporting Obaseki in 2016 - Oshiomole tells Edo residents

Ahead of the September 19, 2020 governorship election in Edo state, former governor of the state and suspended National Chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomole, says he regrets supporting the candidacy of the state governor, Godwin Obaseki, during the 2016 governorship election.   Oshiomole who was the state governor, anointed and supported Obaseki as his successor and went all out to campaign for him. Things have since fallen apart between both politicians.   Speaking to some residents of the state on Sunday, July 26, Oshiomole said he supported the governorship aspiration of Obaseki in 2016 to ensure the continuity of his projects and programs.  He however says he regrets it and is apologising to the state residents. “I have made my honest mistakes. [BREAKING] Eid-el-Kabir: FG declares Thursday, Friday public holidays

The Federal Government has declared Thursday, July 30 and Friday, July 31, 2020 as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebrations. This was contained in a statement on Tuesday signed by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Interior, Georgina Ehuriah. The statement was titled, ‘Federal Government Declares 30 and 31 July, 2020 Public Holidays To Mark Eid-el-Kabir Celebration’. According to the statement, the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, while making the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, congratulated Muslim faithful and all Nigerians both at home and abroad on the occasion. “He called on Muslims to continue to imbibe the spirit of love, peace, kindness and sacrifice, as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) and to also use the period to pray for peace, unity, prosperity and the stability of the country especially as the world is witnessing global health challenges caused by Covid-19 pandemic,” the statement added. Mamman Daura denies reports he dictates to President Buhari

One of the close associates of President Buhari, Mamman Daura, has denied claims he dictates to President Buhari on how to preside over the affairs of the country.   Since President Buhari assumed office in 2015, there have been reports that Daura is a strong member of the alleged cabal that controls the Buhari-led administration and dictates to the President.   However, in an interview with BBC Hausa today Tuesday, July 28, Daura said he only advises President Buhari but does not impose his thoughts on the President     When asked about his relationship with President Buhari, he said the President is his uncle. ” My father was their mother’s firstborn.
