Belarus president, Alexander Lukashenko reveals he tested positive for Coronavirus after telling people they could avoid it by drinking vodka

Belarusian President, Alexander Lukashenko on Tuesday July 28, announced he had asymptomatic COVID-19 but has already recovered from the virus.

 

He made the announcement at a meeting with security officials ahead of the country's election in two weeks' time. 

 

'Today you are meeting a man who managed to survive the coronavirus on his feet. This is what doctors concluded yesterday. Asymptomatic,' Lukashenko said.

 

'As I said, 97% of our population carry this infection asymptomatically,' he added. He did not give a source for that figure.

 

President Lukashenko previously described fears over the pandemic as 'psychosis' and suggested that people drink vodka and go to the sauna to stay healthy and stave off the virus.

 

Belarus, with a population of 9.5 million, has recorded 67,366 coronavirus cases with 543 deaths.

[COVID-19] Just in: Secondary schools in Nigeria to reopen August 4

This was made known in a statement issued on Monday by the director of press and public relations, ministry of education, Mr Ben Bem Goong. The unanimous decisions reached was reached at a virtual consultative meeting between the Federal Ministry of Education, Honourable Commissioners of Education of the 36 states. The statement revealed that, “Only students in exit classes are expected to resume, so that they can participate in the West African Examination (WAEC) exercise scheduled to begin on August 17, 2020”. “Secondary schools in the country are to reopen as from the 4th of August, 2020 for exit classes only. Hero wife brings husband back to life with CPR an hour after his heart stopped

A heroic wife revived her husband by performing CPR on him after he "died" for almost an hour.   Juris Lazduaskis, 45, stopped breathing and turned blue at about 7am on March 4, 2019, and his wife Sanita Lazdauska, 39, jumped into action.   The mum-of-two dialled 999 but was told she would need to resuscitate him. She was instructed to perform compressions to keep blood flowing through his body after his heart stopped.   She continued performing CPR for 30 minutes before paramedics arrived. It was 50 minutes in total before Juris’ heart finally started beating again. 21-year-old man arrested for allegedly sodomizing underaged boys in Anambra

Anambra Police arrested a twenty-one-year-old named Obimeze Maduabuchi Augustine,  of Ofianta village, Nsugbe, in Anambra East Local Government Area of the state for allegedly having carnal knowledge of two small boys, aged five and seven respectively. A statement from the spokesperson for the state police command, SP Haruna Mohammed, said Obimese was arrested by detectives attached to B' Division, Akwa, following a tip-off. According to the statement, the suspect voluntarily confessed to the crime and blamed his actions on peer group Haruna said the state commissioner of police, CP John B. Abang, had ordered the transfer of the case to the state criminal investigation department (CID) for discreet investigations after which the suspect would be charged to court.
