The Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has slammed the Nigerian Army stationed in Baga, a town in Kukawa local government of the state, after suspected Boko Haram members attacked his convoy on Wednesday, July 29.   Governor Zulum had departed Maiduguri, the state capital on Monday afternoon July 27, for the northern part of the state in continuation of the food distribution programme which he started earlier in the month. Nigerian-trained US-based medical doctor who went viral when she said she has cured hundreds of Covid-19 patients with hydroxychloroquine, has threatened Facebook for taking down her page following her viral interview.   Dr Stella Immanuel spoke out during a press conference at Washington. She stated that the antimalarial drug, hydroxychloroquine, zinc, and antibacterial drug, Zithromax were effective in the treatment of Coronavirus. She went on to accuse her colleagues, public figures, and pharmaceutical companies of cover-up (read  here ).   In another video, she challenged CNN host Chris Cuomo and physician Anthony Fauci. Gunmen abduct Ex-commissioner’s children and NSCDC officer in Zamfara

  Several unknown gunmen have abducted the two sons of   Bello Dankande, a former Zamfara commissioner alongside an officer of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).    The incident, which took place at Dankande’s residence in Gamji, Bakura local government area of the state on Tuesday August 18, left one person dead and a woman with injuries.    Spokesperson of Zamfara state police command, Muhammad Shehu who confirmed the incident said police officers are already on the trail of the kidnappers.    He said;  “At about 4:30am, a large number of armed men invaded the house and kidnapped two of his children and two others including an NSCDC officer on guard duty at the house. “One person was shot dead, while a woman was wounded in the process. “The Command further assures the former commissioner and indeed all the people of the state that it would do everything possible to get the abductees released and back ...

  Nollywood filmmaker, Tchidi Chikere has been dragged into an exchange with a follower over his comment about bottles used to sell groundnuts in the country.    Chikere, who shared a photo of some unidentified people arranging some used bottles on the floor stated that they are bottles used to sell groundnuts across the country and are picked from the garbage heap.    However, after being accused of "complaining about citizens trying to make ends meet in a legit way," the filmmaker fired back by saying that the bottles picked from dustbin heap were not recycled but rinsed.
