Police arrest men for violating COVID-19 curfew, then lock him up in a crowded cell

Taking to social media, some Nigerian man in Lagos state, lamented about their experience at the police cell.

According to them, they were arrested for flouting the 10pm curfew put in place by the Federal government to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the state.

According to the men, there was heavy traffic in Lagos on Wednesday, so they couldn’t beat the curfew hour.

The police officers enforcing the traffic in Ikeja arrested them and threw them in a crowded cell where none of the COVID-19 protocols such as social distancing was observed.

Twitter user, Osinaike Joseph, who shared videos from the cell, alleged that the police officers refused to release some of them who were visibly sick. They accused the police of demanding bribe from them before their release.

Two airplanes collide at Lagos airport

A wing tip accident was witnessed at the cargo area of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos on Wednesday July 29.    The accident occurred when a Middle East Airlines plane was coming to park on the apron while a Turkish Airlines aircraft was taxiing out.   Passengers on the Turkish Airlines flight were made to disembark and it was further learnt that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) have been notified and would issue a statement on the incident.

Woman 'forced to perform sex act on dog in exchange for drugs as laughing men watched'

  A woman was filmed sexually abusing a black dog as two men pinned the animal down.   The woman, Sarah Joanne Meredith, 41, claims she was forced to perform a sex act on the dog in exchange for drugs.   In the footage, the laughing men told her to “keep going”, the Liverpool Echo reports.   Describing the video, Ayra Ali, prosecuting, told Wirral Magistrates Court in Merseyside: “A black medium-sized dog is being held by an adult male with the dog's back against his stomach.'   The dog kicked out as another male held its front legs, the court heard.   Ali said Meredith then performed a sex act on the animal, adding: "The defendant stated she was forced to do this, however, the footage shows otherwise."   Sinead Fearon, defending, said: "The defendant is described as a vulnerable female, that's clearly what she is.   "She was promised she would get drugs if she did what the males said."   Sarah Joanne Meredith leaves court with her hood over ...

BREAKING: GOVERNOR WIKE RESCUES JOI NUNIEH FROM HOUSE ARREST

The Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike has rescued the former acting managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Ms. Joi Nunieh from her house after armed policemen laid siege to her house.   Wike arrived Nunieh’s residence off Herbert Marculay Street, Amada-Flat at about 10:30 this morning following reports that she had been prevented from leaving her house by  a team of policemen allegedly on the order of   the Inspection General of Police   Nunieh was scheduled to appear before the House of Representatives ad hoc committee set up to probe malfeasance in the commission.
