Man arrested for killing his friend over N500 in Kano

 Man arrested for killing his friend over N500 in Kano Police in Kano state have arrested one Haruna Ya'u, popularly known as Dangaru, for allegedly killing his friend, Sani Ibrahim, following a disagreement over N500.

 

According to reports, the incident happened at Dan Tsinke Quarters in the Tarauni Local Government Area on Monday, August 16.

 

Family members of the deceased said Ibrahim had given one of his friends, Aminu Ahmad, N500, and sent him on an errand, but that Aminu decided to use the money for himself. An argument ensued when the late Ibrahim asked for his money or the item. Haruna, who is friends with late Ibrahim arrived at the scene and took sides with Aminu. Both men got involved in a fight and in the process, Haruna picked up a pair of scissors and stabbed Ibrahim.

 

Ibrahim was rushed to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in Kano, where he was pronounced dead.

 

The mother of the deceased, Zainab Is'maila, said justice must prevail as her deceased son was the only one catering for her and his other sisters. She said he was based in Port Harcourt where he sold iron scraps and was only waiting for her permission to return to Port Harcourt when he was killed.

 

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said the alleged killer had been arrested and would be charged in court once the investigation into the case has been completed.

Woman robbed of her baby and thrown into septic tank is rescued after three days

  A woman has been rescued from a septic tank three days after a man who stole her baby from her threw her in there.   The nursing mother, named Mrs Chizoba Eke was pulled alive but injured from the septic tank of an incomplete building located in Igwuruta, Ikwerre Local Government Area, Rivers State.   Her attacker, simply identified as Chinedu was apprehended when he tried to traffic her six months old baby through Omerelu, Rivers border with Imo State.   Mrs Eke, the nursing mother was kidnapped from her home with her baby on August 17, 2020, and forced into a septic tank after a severe assault by her abductor.   The husband of the victim, Mr Eke, also alleged that Chinedu had attempted to rape his wife when she was pregnant with the newborn.   Mr Eke said, “I was invited by the police to come and identify our baby, having lodged a complaint when both my wife and baby went missing.   Police officers are on the lookout for anyone with information about a set of goats that 'hijacked a police car in broad daylight'.   In the words of the Isle of White, UK police officers, they are in the hunt for some badly behaved 'kids' who damaged their vehicle and are appealing for witnesses.   According to police, the goats were pictured standing on top the police vehicle near Newport on Wednesday afternoon August 19, as Police had been called to the area after an unexploded bomb from World War II was discovered.    The police called the Royal Navy Explosives Team, travelled from Portsmouth to help destroy the unexploded bomb.     The officers, after detonating the bomb, then returned to their car only to find their car damaged by the 'hooligans'.     The police are now asking if anyone can recognize the goats from the picture.    A police statement published on the police department's official Facebook page said: ‘In a...

Lady arrested for staging her own kidnap says she did it to test her sister's love for her (photo)

A 37-year-old woman, Torkwase Queen Ayakpa, who was arrested by men of the FCT police command for staging her own kidnap, says she did it to find out if her sister loves her.   Ayakpa was one of 24 suspects paraded by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command for various offenses on Wednesday, July 29.   Ayakpa, who is a hairstylist, conspired with one Fidelis Ikule, 36, to stage her kidnap. She told the police that she also did it to extort N20, 000 from her sister because her hairstyling business was no longer doing well due to the coronavirus pandemic.   Ayakpa, a native of Benue state and Fidelis, were arrested after the police traced the calls they were making for the ransom to Fidelis's house in Mashafa Village, Mpape, Abuja, where they were holing up.
