 Final year student of Nasarawa state University dies while attempting to rescue a man who was being electrocuted


A final year student in the Department of Biology Education, Nasarawa State University, lost his life while trying to rescue a trader who was being electrocuted at the GSM market in Keffi, the state capital, on Monday, August 17.

 

According to reports, a mobile phone repairer, Junaudu Shaibu, was about to pick up his tools when he was electrocuted by a nearby high tension wire. Zaidu had tried to rescue Shaibu when he got electrocuted as well.

He has since been buried, according to Islamic injunctions.

 

His family and friends have taken to social media to mourn his passing. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.

Singer Tamar Braxton has been rushed to hospital unresponsive after reports of heramid reports of a possible suicide attempt. Toni Braxton was rushed to hospital by ambulance after she was found unresponsive by her boyfriend David Adefeso at the Ritz Carlton Residences in downtown Los Angeles, it’s reported. David called 911 and said he believed it may have been a suicide attempt, according to The Blast.   The Russian powerlifting champion fractured both of his knees while attempting to squat 400kg (880lb).    Defending champion Alexander Sedykh was competing in the World Raw Powerlifting Federation (WRPF) European Championships near Moscow when the terrifying incident occurred.   In the shocking video, Sedykh's legs can be seen shaking after holding the weight on his shoulders. A Nigerian doctor, Urey, who just passed out from National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, on Thursday, July 16th, has died. According to report, Urey who was a 2019 Batch B stream 2 corper, was involved in a fatal accident at Onne, Rivers state, on her way returning back home. Reports have it that the trailer lost control which led to the crash with her vehicle. Urey was a graduate of Imo state University, department of Optometry. Urey was said to have ‘struggled’ with medical school and finally got out successfully. Friends and family members have taken to social media to pen tributes to her.

  US President, Donald Trump has said he will pardon someone who is “very, very important” on Tuesday, August 18.   Trump made the announcement on Monday night, August 17, while speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One. Russia announces world's first Coronavirus vaccine which offers 'two years' immunity

  Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced that his country has finally approved the world’s first Covid-19 vaccine, saying he has tested it on his daughter and it worked.     According to Putin, the vaccine was developed at Moscow’s Gamaleya Institute, with large-scale production of the vaccine projected to start in September, while mass vaccination may begin as early as October.                    The vaccine has undergone less than two months of human testing, but Putin, speaking to government officials on Tuesday, August 11 said one of his two daughters was among those who already had a shot at the new vaccine. NJC recommends 22 judges to Buhari for appointment to Supreme Court and others
