 Final year student of Nasarawa state University dies while attempting to rescue a man who was being electrocuted


A final year student in the Department of Biology Education, Nasarawa State University, lost his life while trying to rescue a trader who was being electrocuted at the GSM market in Keffi, the state capital, on Monday, August 17.

 

According to reports, a mobile phone repairer, Junaudu Shaibu, was about to pick up his tools when he was electrocuted by a nearby high tension wire. Zaidu had tried to rescue Shaibu when he got electrocuted as well.

He has since been buried, according to Islamic injunctions.

 

His family and friends have taken to social media to mourn his passing. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.

Newly married soldier is shot dead by fellow military colleague in Borno

A newly married military officer was shot dead by his colleague in Borno state following a misunderstanding.   Lieutenant Babakaka Shehu Ngorgi of the 202 Battalion, who got married in December 2019, was talking to his wife Hauwa Alhaji Kolomi when one of his colleagues shot him from the back six times in Bama, Borno.   After shooting him, the attacker was reportedly heard screaming, "I have achieved my aim." It is not yet clear why the soldier killed Lt Ngorgi, who is his senior in the army and on the battlefield.    Friends have gone on various social media platforms to mourn Ngorgi.

Businessman, Nicholas Ofodile was murdered by assassins hired by a business associate who needed his financial help but didn’t get it

Mr. Nicholas Ofodile, a Kogi-based businessman, who was found dead in his car last month along Abuja-Lokoja highway (read here), was murdered by assassins hired by an aggrieved associate.    The identity of Ofodile's alleged killer was disclosed by the Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Mr Ede Ayuba, while parading the leader of the gang, one Vincent Omogor, and  27 others at the command’s headquarters in Lokoja yesterday, July 29.   Ayuba disclosed that the suspect was arrested by Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) operatives in collaboration with vigilantes in the state. He was arrested in Orehi, Kogi Local Government Area of the State. Speaking with newsmen, the suspect said he was commissioned by someone, who he referred to as "chairman", to assassinate the businessman.
