Zambia’s education minister sacked over viral sex video

Zambia's Education Minister, David Mabumba has been fired after allegedly appearing in a viral sex video. 

 

Though President Edgar Lungu's spokesperson, Isaac Chipampe did not disclose the reason for Mabumba's dismissal, it however came after the sex tape of a man that looks like him went viral. The man was spotted in live WhatsApp video with a woman, naked and masturbating.

 

A  statement from the President Lungu's spokesman Isaac Chipampe partly read; 

"I have relieved Minister of General Education Hon David Mabumba of his duty with immediate effect. I have thanked him for the services he rendered to Government and wished him well in his future endeavours."


It added that Dr Dennis Wanchinga who is the minister of Water Development, Sanitation and Environmental Protection will move to the Ministry of General Education in the same capacity.

Borno state governor, Babagana Zulum slams soldiers after an attack on his convoy

The Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has slammed the Nigerian Army stationed in Baga, a town in Kukawa local government of the state, after suspected Boko Haram members attacked his convoy on Wednesday, July 29.   Governor Zulum had departed Maiduguri, the state capital on Monday afternoon July 27, for the northern part of the state in continuation of the food distribution programme which he started earlier in the month. Nigerian-trained US-based medical doctor who went viral when she said she has cured hundreds of Covid-19 patients with hydroxychloroquine, has threatened Facebook for taking down her page following her viral interview.   Dr Stella Immanuel spoke out during a press conference at Washington. She stated that the antimalarial drug, hydroxychloroquine, zinc, and antibacterial drug, Zithromax were effective in the treatment of Coronavirus. Yakubu Dogara, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, has decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC. Dogara’s defection was disclosed to Channels Television by the acting Chairman of APC, Mai Mala Buni. Buni and Dogara were said to have met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa. Gunmen abduct Ex-commissioner’s children and NSCDC officer in Zamfara

  Several unknown gunmen have abducted the two sons of   Bello Dankande, a former Zamfara commissioner alongside an officer of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).    The incident, which took place at Dankande’s residence in Gamji, Bakura local government area of the state on Tuesday August 18, left one person dead and a woman with injuries.    Spokesperson of Zamfara state police command, Muhammad Shehu who confirmed the incident said police officers are already on the trail of the kidnappers.    He said;  “At about 4:30am, a large number of armed men invaded the house and kidnapped two of his children and two others including an NSCDC officer on guard duty at the house. “One person was shot dead, while a woman was wounded in the process. “The Command further assures the former commissioner and indeed all the people of the state that it would do everything possible to get the abductees released and back ...

Nigerian singer, Seun Kuti has shared his view about the underdevelopment witnessed across states in the country.    According to the singer, the level of underdevelopment in the country is directly tied to the wealth of our elites.    Seun Kuti added that if Nigerians calculate how much the country has lost and how much the elites have amassed, the numbers will almost be similar.    He wrote;  If we calculate how much we have lost and we calculate how much they have personally amassed, I can bet my life that the numbers will be almost similar.
