Ubi Franklin revealed he attempted suicide multiple times three years ago while reacting to the heartbreaking video of Izuchukwu Madubueze reading his suicide note before shooting himself dead.

 

Ubi explained that online bullying caused him to be depressed. He added that he "got bullied so much on Instagram in the last two years that he started getting depressed again."

 

He said that he was able to get out of depression by asking himself some questions like, "Why bother your self with people who contribute nothing to your life? Are you the first to have a failed marriage? Are you the first to have kids from 4 different women?"

 

Ubi pointed out that no one's life is perfect and most of those who condemn people online also have their skeletons.

 

He further stated that "suicide is never an option".

 

"I am here today because I know there is got to be more," he added.

Magu Probe: Olukoyede, EFCC Secretary, Suspended

Some officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have received letters of suspension, TheCable understands. Although details of those suspended are yet to be made public,  TheCable  learnt that Olanipekun Olukoyede, secretary to the commission, is among those who received the letters. The development is not unconnected to the ongoing probe of Ibrahim Magu, suspended acting chairman of the EFCC. Magu was arrested on July 6 and whisked to the presidential villa in Abuja, where he appeared before a panel set up by President Muhammadu Buhari to probe the operations of the EFCC under him. The panel is headed by Ayo Salami, retired president of the appeal court. On July 14, Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the federation (AGF), sent a letter to Mohammed Umar, acting EFCC chairman, notifying him of the suspension of 12 directors in the commission. Contract splitting is rampant in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Niger Delta Affairs Minister Godswill Akpabio, said on Monday. According to him, the management of the agency indulges in splitting contracts to outwit the minister and evade approval. Speaking before the House of Representatives Committee on Niger Delta in Abuja, the minister alleged that the agency spent “over N4.2 billion in a day in tranches of N49 million.” The committee is probing how N40 billion was spent by the Interim Management Committee (IMC). Akpabio was invited with the Acting Managing Director of the NDDC, Prof. Kemebradikumo Pondei. Pondei fainted during the proceedings and had to be revived and taken to the hospital.
