Nurse allegedly hacks his wife and two children to death in Osun



The police in Osun state have arrested a Nurse identified as Tunde Oyeniran, for allegedly using a cutlass to kill his wife and their two children at their home in Inisa town in the state on Friday, July 24.

 

Spokesperson of the state police command, Yemisi Opalola, who confirmed this to newsmen, said Oyeniran allegedly hacked his wife and children to death and thereafter used the cutlass to inflict cuts on himself in the hand and stomach. He then raised an alarm claiming that his family was attacked by hoodlums.

 

Opalola said Oyeniran has been arrested and is currently being treated for the injuries on his body. She said a preliminary investigation revealed a foul play. She said men of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department have already commenced investigation to unravel the mystery behind the attack.

“From the information available to us, the incident happened around 11pm last Friday in Inisa. The suspect reportedly used a cutlass to kill his wife, Sarah, and the two children living with them.

Three corpses recovered from the scene have been deposited in a morgue in Ikirun for post-mortem examination. A cutlass was also recovered from the scene. The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Undie Adie, has directed thorough investigation into the incident.”
