Motivation behind African Time is uniting Africa

The African Time album is a get-together of African music heavyweights as it taps influences from several places on the continent to paint a mosaic of the African experience in its totality. The project features award-winning east African singer, Diamond Platnumz, as well as Vanessa Mdee, Nandi and Ray Vanny. Nigeria’s Reekado Banks, Teni, Tekno, Yemi Alade and Ghana’s Samini and Fuse ODG are also making an appearance on the album.

Magu Probe: Olukoyede, EFCC Secretary, Suspended

Some officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have received letters of suspension, TheCable understands. Although details of those suspended are yet to be made public,  TheCable  learnt that Olanipekun Olukoyede, secretary to the commission, is among those who received the letters. The development is not unconnected to the ongoing probe of Ibrahim Magu, suspended acting chairman of the EFCC. Magu was arrested on July 6 and whisked to the presidential villa in Abuja, where he appeared before a panel set up by President Muhammadu Buhari to probe the operations of the EFCC under him. The panel is headed by Ayo Salami, retired president of the appeal court. On July 14, Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the federation (AGF), sent a letter to Mohammed Umar, acting EFCC chairman, notifying him of the suspension of 12 directors in the commission. Demitra “Mimi” Roche, who appeared on the Oxygen reality show “Bad Girls Club,” has passed away at the age of 34. Record producer and founder of Valholla Entertainment in Miami, where Roche had worked as vice president of A&R since 2011, announced her death via Twitter. “I’m at a loss for words. Don’t know what to say,” Valholla wrote in his post. “Mimi was kind to everyone she came across. She was [a] big dreamer and was a part of our Valholla family. I’m heartbroken by the news of her passing. I’m thankful I got to know and work with her. Self-acclaimed "King of feminism", Solomon Buchi has denounced the movement and he gave reasons for his action.   Solomon Buchi has been a vocal feminist on Instagram and Twitter for years.
