Businessman, Nicholas Ofodile was murdered by assassins hired by a business associate who needed his financial help but didn’t get it

Mr. Nicholas Ofodile, a Kogi-based businessman, who was found dead in his car last month along Abuja-Lokoja highway (read here), was murdered by assassins hired by an aggrieved associate. 

 

The identity of Ofodile's alleged killer was disclosed by the Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Mr Ede Ayuba, while parading the leader of the gang, one Vincent Omogor, and  27 others at the command’s headquarters in Lokoja yesterday, July 29.

 

Ayuba disclosed that the suspect was arrested by Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) operatives in collaboration with vigilantes in the state. He was arrested in Orehi, Kogi Local Government Area of the State.


Speaking with newsmen, the suspect said he was commissioned by someone, who he referred to as "chairman", to assassinate the businessman. He said "chairman" was aggrieved by the failure of the deceased to fulfill certain financial obligations to him when his father took ill.

 

He explained that "chairman" became angry when his father eventually died of the ailment so he decided to take revenge by killing Ofodile.

 

The assassin said: "Chairman gave us full details about the man’s movement from Lokoja to Abuja. We then waited for him and when we saw his car, we forced him to stop, dragged him out, killed him and put his body back inside the car."

Gunmen abduct Ex-commissioner’s children and NSCDC officer in Zamfara

  Several unknown gunmen have abducted the two sons of   Bello Dankande, a former Zamfara commissioner alongside an officer of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).    The incident, which took place at Dankande’s residence in Gamji, Bakura local government area of the state on Tuesday August 18, left one person dead and a woman with injuries.    Spokesperson of Zamfara state police command, Muhammad Shehu who confirmed the incident said police officers are already on the trail of the kidnappers.    He said;  “At about 4:30am, a large number of armed men invaded the house and kidnapped two of his children and two others including an NSCDC officer on guard duty at the house. “One person was shot dead, while a woman was wounded in the process. “The Command further assures the former commissioner and indeed all the people of the state that it would do everything possible to get the abductees released and back ...

A Nigerian doctor, Urey, who just passed out from National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, on Thursday, July 16th, has died. According to report, Urey who was a 2019 Batch B stream 2 corper, was involved in a fatal accident at Onne, Rivers state, on her way returning back home. Reports have it that the trailer lost control which led to the crash with her vehicle. Urey was a graduate of Imo state University, department of Optometry. Facebook, Twitter delete videos of doctor making COVID-19 cure claims

Social media platforms like  Facebook  and  Twitter  as well as video streaming site, Youtube, have deleted videos by an American-based physician, Dr Stella Immanuel, who claimed to have recorded a 100 per cent success rate in the treatment of COVID-19 using hydroxychloroquine. The video was first published by Breitbart News, a right-wing medium co-founded by Steve Bannon, a former aide to American President, Donald Trump.
