A former Kaduna Central district Senator, Shehu Sani has reacted to an increase in train fare for the Abuja to Kaduna service by the Federal government.

It’s Unjust And Insensitive To Increase Train Fare – Shehu Sani

We had reported that the Minister of Transport, Chibuike Amaechi announced a 100% increment in train fare for the Abuja to Kaduna service.

Amaechi, on Saturday, told reporters that the fare will double due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to him, travelers will now prepare to pay double of whatever trip they enjoy.

He also said that the reason behind the increment was that the coach previously carried 88 passengers but when they resume the service, the coach will be carrying just 40 passengers.

However, Sani in a tweet via his Twitter account on Monday said that such development was unjust, unfair, and insensitive given that people are suffering already due to the recent coronavirus pandemic.

He also advised the transportation Minister to make things easier for the people, adding that tables might turn any day.

He said


”To the transportation minister Chibuike Amaechi and the ministry; 100% increase in train fare is unjust, unfair, soulless & insensitive.

“Make things easier for the people when you are on top of the rock of power, you will meet with them when you are back to the base of life.”

Gal Pissetzky, the legal representative of suspected Internet fraudster, Ramon Abass, aka Hushpuppi, has said the suspect is on his way to California, United States of America, for trial. He told The PUNCH on Wednesday night that Hushpuppi had not been released as being speculated in some quarters. Pissetzky, a Chicago lawyer, also noted that he was still his lawyer. “He has not been released and I am still his lawyer. He is on his way to California. Not everything you see on court documents is accurate. “Just because the jail record says ‘released’ does not mean he has been released. He is being transferred to California,” he told the PUNCH correspondent on the phone. Hushpuppi is facing trial for alleged Internet fraud.

Man Accused Of Using Coronavirus Relief Funds To Buy $318k Lamborghini

A Florida man has been accused of fraudulently obtaining nearly $4 million from the Paycheck Protection Program and using part of the money to buy a $318,000 Lamborghini. The man, David T. Hines, 29, of Miami, was arrested Friday July 24 and charged with one count of bank fraud, one count of making false statements to a financial institution and one count of engaging in transactions in unlawful proceeds, the Department of Justice said in a news release. Federal agents seized the car, valued at $318,000, and $3.4 million from his bank accounts when he was arrested, the Justice Department said. The criminal complaint against Hines was unsealed on Monday July 27, upon his initial appearance before U.S. Chief Magistrate Judge John J. O’Sullivan in the Southern District of Florida. Singer Tamar Braxton has been rushed to hospital unresponsive after reports of heramid reports of a possible suicide attempt.   The Russian powerlifting champion fractured both of his knees while attempting to squat 400kg (880lb).    Defending champion Alexander Sedykh was competing in the World Raw Powerlifting Federation (WRPF) European Championships near Moscow when the terrifying incident occurred.   In the shocking video, Sedykh's legs can be seen shaking after holding the weight on his shoulders. A Nigerian doctor, Urey, who just passed out from National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, on Thursday, July 16th, has died.
